Thanks to injuries and bye weeks, there were just seven former Syracuse football players in the NFL this past week. On the bright side, there were some good performances, including one player who made one of the week’s most memorable plays. Let’s check out how the Orange performed in week 12.
Zaire Franklin, Colts
Franklin and the Colts played a compelling game with the Chiefs on Sunday, with the former Syracuse linebacker compiling 14 tackles, including seven solo tackles. He also had one tackle for loss and one quarterback hit. While in a losing effort, Franklin was one of Indy's best players in a disappointing loss to the Chiefs.
LeQuint Allen, Jaguars
The Jaguars had an overtime win on Sunday, albeit with Allen playing a limited role. He had just one carry for two yards and wasn’t targeted in the passing game, as Allen continues to be used mainly as a blocker.
Garrett Williams, Cardinals
Williams and the Cardinals were on the losing end of Jacksonville’s win. The former Syracuse cornerback was questionable heading into the game but managed to play. He also had a big game, with two defended passes and an interception.

Sean Tucker, Buccaneers
It was a disastrous Sunday night for the Bucs, losing 34-7 with Baker Mayfield getting hurt. On the bright side, Tucker continued to be Tampa’s primary rusher, getting 12 carries compared to seven for Rachaad White. However, Tucker had just 42 rushing yards, with one catch for four yards.
Riley Dixon, Buccaneers
Despite scoring just seven points, Dixon was only needed for four punts on Sunday, one of which he hit for 55 yards.
Alijah Clark, Cowboys
For a minute, Clark stole the show in the Cowboys’ comeback win over the Eagles. He made a great effort play on a punt, ultimately making the hit that caused a game-changing fumble. While Clark is back to being mostly a special teams player, he’s proving to make an impact for Dallas in that part of the game.

Andre Szmyt, Browns
Szmyt played his part in Cleveland’s win over the Raiders. He made a 53-yard field goal and converted all three PATs, as the Browns won 24-10.
