Based on social media posts and reports, various high school prospects across several recruiting classes will visit the Hill this coming weekend as Syracuse football battles non-conference foe UConn on Saturday afternoon at the JMA Wireless Dome.

Among those expected visitors will be Orange 2025 verbal commit Luke Carney, a three-star quarterback who was recently named an All-American, and 'Cuse target Ayden Pouncey, a 2026 four-star defensive back.

Top 247Sports analyst Mike McAllister reported that the 6-foot-2, 205-pound Carney will be on hand this Saturday when Syracuse football hosts the Huskies. Carney, who verbally pledged to the Orange in late March, was on the SU campus this past April for the team's annual spring game. According to recruiting services, he took an official visit to the 'Cuse from May 31 to June 2.

Carney is a standout senior at the Dallas Christian School in Mesquite, Texas. He has already won three state titles with the Chargers, and Dallas Christian (8-2 overall) is currently participating in the state playoffs in Texas.

Per MaxPreps, in the 2024 season to date, Carney has completed 76.2 percent of his passes for 2,112 yards with 15 touchdowns and just one interception. On the ground, he has rushed for 761 yards and 18 more scores.

A few days ago, Carney said via his X page that he was selected to play in the prestigious Blue-Grey All-American Bowl, which will take place on January 13 of next year at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. Congrats, Luke!

Syracuse football will have numerous recruits on campus this weekend for visits.

Pouncey noted on his X page that he will be back at the 'Cuse this weekend visiting Syracuse football. He also took a trip to Central New York in late July.

The 6-foot-3, 175-pound Pouncey, throughout his recruitment, has picked up more than 30 offers. Orange first-year head coach Fran Brown and his top-flight staff offered a scholarship to Pouncey on May 6 of this year.

Pouncey is a junior at Winter Park High School in Winter Park, Fla. He is a highly rated and coveted player in the 2026 cycle.

When I wrote this column, the industry-generated 247Sports Composite, within the junior class, placed Pouncey at No. 137 overall, No. 11 at safety and No. 21 in Florida.

Via the industry-generated On3 Industry Ranking, he checked in at No. 129 nationally, No. 12 at safety and No. 22 in Florida.
