Syracuse football has made the top 10 of an elite high school junior.

Per a post on X from national recruiting expert Hayes Fawcett of On3, 2026 four-star defensive back Khary Adams has a top 10 of the Orange, Oregon, LSU, Notre Dame, Southern California, Maryland, Auburn, South Carolina, Michigan and Penn State.

That's quite a list. Notre Dame reached the national championship game at the end of the 2024 season. Oregon and Penn State also made the 12-team College Football Playoff. Michigan won the national title two terms ago.

Still, it's wonderful to see Syracuse football head coach Fran Brown and his top-flight staff reside in the top 10 of such a talented high school prospect.

The 6-foot-2, 180-pound Adams had an award-winning junior season for Loyola Blakefield, a prep school located in Towson, Md.

Syracuse football remains in the hunt for 2026 four-star defensive back Khary Adams.

Per 247Sports, throughout his recruitment, Adams has landed more than 30 offers from a range of high-major programs. The Orange staff offered a scholarship to him on May 14 of 2024, according to Adams' X page.

Media reports and social media posts indicate that Adams was on the Hill and in attendance at the JMA Wireless Dome when Syracuse football defeated fellow Atlantic Coast Conference school Virginia Tech, in overtime, in early November of last year.

Currently, Adams' highest 2026 rankings come from 247Sports, which has him at No. 38 overall, No. 2 at cornerback and No. 4 in Maryland.

At the time of this writing, both the industry-generated 247Sports Composite and the industry-generated On3 Industry Ranking placed Adams in the top 155 nationally, the top 15 at cornerback and within the top five in Maryland.

Also in recent days, the Orange made the top five of 2026 four-star wide receiver and top-40 national prospect Davion Brown of the Trinity Episcopal School in Richmond, Va., who per reports plans to officially visit the 'Cuse later on this year.

To date, Syracuse football has secured at least nine verbal commitments in the high school junior class, including pledges from several four-star prospects. Currently, the Orange's 2026 cycle is in the top 15 nationwide, according to the 247Sports Composite and Rivals.com.

What's more, Brown and his assistants are in pursuit of numerous other highly ranked juniors, and the 'Cuse has the potential to come away with a truly special 2026 class when all is said and done.
