On Saturday, two Syracuse football 2026 priority targets will make their college decisions known. One is five-star wide receiver Calvin Russell lll.
The other, the focus of this column, is three-star, top-25 tight end Julius Miles, who is down to a final three of the Orange and two additional Atlantic Coast Conference schools, Louisville and Florida State.
Miles, per an Instagram story post, says that he will make his commitment announcement on Saturday night at 6:40 pm via his Instagram page.
When I wrote this article on Saturday morning, I didn't see any analyst predictions for Miles on 247Sports or On3/Rivals.
Syracuse football will soon learn the decision of 2026 3-star TE Julius Miles.
The 6-foot-6, 220-pound Miles took an official visit to the Hill last month before the current dead period in college football recruiting began. The Orange offered a scholarship to him on January 1, 2025.

Per social media posts, Miles unofficially visited Syracuse football in late March. In May, 'Cuse co-offensive coordinator/tight ends coach Mike Johnson visited Miles.
Thank you coach @WRCoachmj for stopping by to see me !!! @FranBrownCuse @M_White03 @Coach_2CAP @SyraCuseAholic @TheJuiceOnline @CuseFootball pic.twitter.com/PgXMWQ0eoJ

I haven't gotten a sense from recruiting analysts which of Miles' top-three contenders might be deemed the leader for him heading into Saturday evening's decision.
Had a great time in Syracuse this weekend!!! @WRCoachmj @DeonMaddoxSU1 @FranBrownCuse @SWiltfong_ @ChadSimmons_ @JohnGarcia_Jr @TheJuiceOnline @CuseFootball pic.twitter.com/70EgG73tEa

Last month, the Orange got a verbal pledge from another 2026 three-star tight end Carter Bashir of Neumann Goretti High School in Philadelphia, who also suits up at defensive tackle.
As a junior during the 2024 campaign, according to social media posts, Miles hauled in 56 passes for 900 yards and 10 touchdowns for his program, Freeport High School in Freeport, Fla.
The 'Cuse staff, across its 2025, 2026 and 2027 classes, has had a lot of success in the Sunshine State, and Syracuse football coaches could add to that on Saturday between the decision by Russell and Miles.
At the time of this writing, both the industry-generated 247Sports Composite and the industry-generated On3 Industry Ranking placed Miles in the top 600 nationally. He is the No. 23 tight end in his class, per On3.
The Orange's 2026 class currently has 25 verbal pledges and is ranked No. 29 overall by the 247Sports Composite. This 'Cuse cycle includes several four-star prospects and multiple players who hail from Florida.
Hopefully, later on Saturday, the Syracuse football 2026 class will grow to 27 verbal commits.
