Syracuse football 4-star commit officially visiting; 5-star WR and 4-star QB visiting
By Neil Adler
As Syracuse football hosts - and hopefully, beats - No. 6 Miami on Saturday afternoon at the JMA Wireless Dome in the 2024 regular-season finale, a ton of high school prospects across numerous classes will reside on the Hill visiting the Orange program, according to media reports and posts on X.
One 'Cuse visitor, I noted this week, will be 2026 four-star quarterback and top-200 national prospect Peyton Falzone of Nazareth Area High School in Nazareth, Pa. The 6-foot-5, 200-pound Falzone, who recently de-committed from Virginia Tech, holds a scholarship offer from the Orange staff.
Another big-time visitor for 'Cuse coaches this weekend is 2026 five-star wide receiver and top-15 national prospect Calvin Russell of Miami Northwestern Senior High School. The 6-foot-5, 190-pound Russell, who also has a Syracuse football offer, is high on both the Orange and the Hurricanes, as reported by top 247Sports analyst Brian Dohn.
But wait. There's more.
Some impressive visitors to Syracuse football this weekend.
On Friday afternoon, Orange 2025 commit Demetres Samuel Jr. said via his X page that he was taking an official visit to the 'Cuse this weekend, and he appropriately added, "pack the dome!!!"
The 6-foot-2, 185-pound Samuel, a four-star athlete/defensive back and a top-150 national prospect in the 2025 class, attends Heritage High School in Palm Bay, Fla. In late September of this year, he flipped back to Syracuse football from Southeastern Conference member Florida.
The early signing period for 2025 football prospects is coming soon, as it will run from December 4 to December 6. To date, the 'Cuse has at least 33 verbal pledges in this cycle. Currently, the Orange's 2025 class is in the top 35 around the country, per the industry-generated 247Sports Composite and Rivals.com.
Another visitor to Central New York to watch Syracuse football battle Miami will be 2027 four-star quarterback and top-60 national prospect Keegan Croucher, he disclosed on X. The 6-foot-4, 200-pound Croucher has put forth an award-winning sophomore campaign during the 2024 season for the Cheshire Academy in Cheshire, Conn.
According to recruiting services, Croucher boasts offers from Indiana and Michigan. Those schools showing an interest in him include Penn State and the 'Cuse. It wouldn't surprise me at all if Croucher secures a scholarship offer this weekend from Syracuse football on his visit to the SU campus.
The Dome, undeniably, will prove electric on Saturday. My fingers are crossed that the Orange plays well against Miami, showing these and other high school prospects that their future college destination should be Syracuse football, a program on the rise under first-year head coach Fran Brown and his top-flight staff.
