Syracuse Football: 3-star, top-20 athlete Wydeek Collier puts 'Cuse in his top 5
By Neil Adler
Wydeek Collier, a talented three-star athlete in the 2026 class from the Philadelphia area, is down to five finalists, and Syracuse football is one of them.
In recent days, via his X page, the 6-foot-6, 205-pound Collier disclosed a top five of the Orange, Penn State, Miami, West Virginia and Rutgers. Collier describes himself as a wide receiver/edge rusher.
He is a junior at Neumann Goretti High School in Philadelphia, a key recruiting market for Syracuse football first-year head coach Fran Brown and his top-flight staff, along with the rest of the Northeast corridor and other states such as Florida, Tennessee, Georgia, Texas and Ohio, among others.
Back in July of 2023, Collier received his first scholarship offer from a Division I school residing in a power conference, and that was the 'Cuse. On May 16 of this year, he was re-offered by the new Syracuse football staff.
In a recent interview with top 247Sports analyst Mike McAllister, Collier said in part, "Syracuse was the first to believe in me. I have built a great relationship with their staff and they have something good going."
Syracuse football is in the top five of 2026 three-star athlete Wydeek Collier.
In mid-June of this year, Collier competed at one of the Orange's camps. He said on his X page that he was named the defensive MVP for the camp in which he participated.
While his recruiting process could stretch out a bit further, to date, Collier holds around 10 scholarship offers from schools such as Miami, Penn State, Rutgers, West Virginia, Boston College, Charlotte, Duke, Temple and Virginia Tech.
When I wrote this article on Tuesday evening, I didn't see an analyst predictions for Collier on the 247Sports Web site, Rivals.com or the On3 Web site.
Within the 2026 cycle, 247Sports places him as the No. 20 athlete and the No. 9 player from Pennsylvania. At the time of this writing, the industry-generated 247Sports Composite ranked Collier at No. 431 overall, No. 28 at athlete and No. 13 in Pennsylvania.
Over at the industry-generated On3 Industry Ranking, he arrived at No. 388 nationwide, No. 33 at athlete and No. 11 in Pennsylvania.
So far, Syracuse football has one verbal pledge in its 2026 class. This past April, three-star running back D’Antae Sheffey of Harrisburg High School in Harrisburg, Pa., verbally committed to the 'Cuse.
