Two more games to go.
According to my math (scary thought), we now know 11 of Syracuse basketball's 13 non-conference games during the upcoming 2025-26 season, although one of the opponents out in the Sin City is yet to be determined.
On Wednesday, SU Athletics announced that the Orange will host Coastal Athletic Association ("CAA") member Northeastern from Boston on Saturday, Dec. 20, at the JMA Wireless Dome.
In their all-time series together, the 'Cuse is 9-0 against the Huskies, with all of those previous encounters occurring on the Hill. Most recently, in November of 2022, Syracuse basketball handled Northeastern, 76-48.

In 2024-25, the Huskies went 17-15 overall and 9-9 in CAA competition. Northeastern's long-time head coach is Bill Coen, who took over the program in 2006-07 and is the winningest coach in Huskies and CAA history.
Coen has led Northeastern to a pair of NCAA Tournament appearances, in 2015 and 2019.
Here's the Syracuse basketball non-conference schedule in 2025-26 so far.
Saturday, Nov. 15, versus Drexel in Philadelphia
Tuesday, Nov. 18, versus Monmouth at the JMA Wireless Dome
Saturday, Nov. 22, versus Saint Joseph's in Las Vegas
Monday, Nov. 24, versus Houston in Las Vegas (Players Era Festival)
Tuesday, Nov. 25, versus Kansas in Las Vegas (Players Era Festival)
Wednesday, Nov. 26, versus opponent TBD in Las Vegas (Players Era Festival)
Tuesday, Dec. 2, versus Tennessee at the JMA Wireless Dome (ACC/SEC Challenge)
Saturday, Dec. 13, versus Hofstra at the JMA Wireless Dome
Wednesday, Dec. 17, versus Mercyhurst at the JMA Wireless Dome
Saturday, Dec. 20, versus Northeastern at the JMA Wireless Dome
Media reports have also indicated that Syracuse basketball is expected to host Binghamton at the Dome, although the date for this game hasn't been publicly disclosed.
That's 11 non-conference affairs to date. In 2025-26, Atlantic Coast Conference members will play 13 non-conference games, up from 11 a season ago, while seeing their number of league contests decrease from 20 to 18.
While we still have two non-conference meetings remaining, on paper, this is an entertaining and challenging calendar that includes multiple neutral-site games. Plus, Houston, Kansas and Tennessee are likely to reside in top-25 polls throughout the upcoming campaign, as head coach Adrian Autry and his program eye a return to March Madness following a four-year absence from the annual NCAA Tournament.
