Syracuse basketball is among numerous schools displaying some level of interest in Arizona sophomore guard KJ Lewis, a four-star transfer prospect.
That's according to a post on X from top recruiting analyst Sam Kayser, who runs the account 24/7 High School Hoops. Kayser notes that the 6-foot-4, 210-pound Lewis is receiving interest from potential college suitors including the 'Cuse, Kansas, UCLA, Clemson, Southern California, Texas A&M, Texas, Georgetown, SMU, Virginia and N.C. State, among others.
Per 247Sports, Lewis entered the transfer portal on March 29. The current transfer portal window, by the way, runs through April 22.

So far this off-season, the Orange coaching staff has landed at least one pledge via the transfer portal, with UCLA junior power forward/center William Kyle lll recently committing to the 'Cuse.
In the 2024-25 season, Syracuse basketball had seven players who still have college eligibility left, although five of them have decided to hit the portal. Even with Kyle's pledge and the team's 2025 prep class of four signees, the Orange has numerous scholarships available, and the guard position is likely a focus for 'Cuse coaches this off-season, along with the center spot and 3-point specialists out on the wing.
Syracuse basketball has reportedly contacted Arizona four-star transfer guard KJ Lewis.
Big 12 Conference member Arizona went 24-13 in 2024-25 and reached the Sweet 16 of this spring's NCAA Tournament. Per ESPN statistics, as a sophomore, Lewis averaged 25.9 minutes, 10.8 points, 4.6 rebounds, 2.9 assists and 1.3 steals per contest while making 42.9 percent from the field, just 18.8 percent from beyond the arc, and 80.7 percent from the free-throw line.
As a member of the 2023 recruiting cycle at the prep level, Lewis was rated four stars and inside the top 100 nationally by multiple recruiting services. He was a standout at an excellent program, Duncanville High School in Duncanville, Texas.
When I wrote this article, in national transfer rankings from 247Sports, Lewis checked in as four stars, No. 33 overall and No. 5 at small forward. I assume that he can play both shooting guard and small forward out on the wing.
I noted in a separate recent column that another Arizona transfer, freshman center Emmanuel Stephen, has also heard from the 'Cuse staff, according to 247Sports national analyst Travis Branham.
This off-season, per reports and recruiting analysts, other college transfers who have heard from Syracuse basketball include Oregon State redshirt junior guard Nate Kingz, Cal State Northridge senior small forward Keonte Jones, UNLV sophomore point guard Dedan Thomas Jr., Dayton redshirt junior point guard Malachi Smith, Georgia sophomore guard Silas Demary Jr., Arkansas State junior guard Derrian Ford, Clemson freshman guard Del Jones, Robert Morris junior guard/forward Amarion Dickerson, North Dakota junior guard Treysen Eaglestaff, North Dakota State senior guard Jacari White and Drexel junior guard Kobe Magee.
