We know the future plans of every Syracuse basketball player from the 2024-25 season who had college eligibility left.

Hall of Fame writer Donna Ditota with Syracuse.com broke the news that freshman power forward/center Petar Majstorovic has entered the transfer portal. I won't lie - I'm bummed by this news and had hoped that Petar would come back for another season.

That being said, I'm wishing him well. The 6-foot-8, 215-pound Majstorovic, who is from Sombor, Serbia, played in a French professional league before joining the Orange.

During 2024-25, as the 'Cuse went 14-19 overall and missed the NCAA Tournament for the fourth straight year, Majstorovic appeared in 31 games. He averaged 13.2 minutes, 2.6 points and 3.2 rebounds per contest while making 48.4 percent from the field, 41.7 percent from beyond the arc and 53.8 percent from the free-throw line.

Syracuse basketball has seen many players decide to depart.

In 2024-25, the Orange had 12 scholarship players. Five exhausted their eligibility. Those who have entered the portal are Majstorovic, redshirt sophomore guard/wing Chance Westry, redshirt junior guard Kyle Cuffe Jr., junior small forward Chris Bell and freshman guard Elijah Moore.

Two 2024-25 players are expected to return. They are junior guard J.J. Starling and freshman power forward Donnie Freeman. UCLA junior William Kyle lll, a power forward/center, recently committed to the 'Cuse.

The team's 2025 class at the high school level consists of four-star shooting guard Kiyan Anthony, four-star forward Sadiq White Jr., four-star combo guard Luke Fennell and three-star wing Aaron Womack.

In this day and age, roster turnover from season to season is expected. At the same time, it's pretty remarkable, to me, that only two players from the Orange's 2024-25 roster are coming back.

If my math is correct, the program's current roster for the 2025-26 term includes seven players:

Guards
J.J. Starling
Kiyan Anthony
Luke Fennell

Wings/Forwards
Donnie Freeman
Sadiq White Jr.
Aaron Womack

Power Forwards/Centers
William Kyle lll

Obviously, Syracuse basketball coaches have a bunch of scholarships remaining for 2025-26. From my perspective, the biggest areas of need are landing a true point guard out of the portal, along with a 3-point specialist and another center.

The current transfer portal window opened last week, on March 24, and it will run until April 22. Players don't have to be committed to a new school by April 22, but they do have to be in the portal by then if they want to transfer.
