Syracuse basketball coaches continue to dole out scholarship offers to elite prospects in the 2027 recruiting cycle.
One of those 'Cuse offers recently went to four-star wing/forward Moussa Kamissoko, he disclosed via his X page. A huge congrats to Moussa, who is a talented 6-foot-8 player in the sophomore class.
Kamissoko, on a national scale, is inside the top 20 of his cycle, per several recruiting Web sites. On3, when I wrote this article, placed him at No. 9 overall, No. 5 at small forward and No. 1 in New York within the 2027 class.
For his sophomore season during the current 2024-25 campaign, Kamissoko is suiting up for one of the top high school programs nationally, the powerhouse Long Island Lutheran High School in Brookville, N.Y., which is a member of the prestigious 14-team Nike Elite Youth Basketball League Scholastic ("EYBL Scholastic").
In early September of this year, word came out on social media that Kamissoko would transfer to Long Island Lutheran from the Trinity-Pawling School in Pawling, N.Y. One of his Long Island Lutheran teammates is Syracuse basketball 2025 commit Kiyan Anthony, a four-star shooting guard and a top-30 national prospect who is officially signed with the 'Cuse and plans to visit the Hill later this week.
Syracuse basketball has extended an offer to 2027 four-star prospect Moussa Kamissoko.
Anthony hasn't played in recent games due to an injury, although posts on X indicate he should return to the floor soon. Kamissoko, meanwhile, earned high praise from national analysts and scouts for his play at the recent City of Palms Classic, a loaded annual showcase held in Fort Myers, Fla.
According to his X page and recruiting Web sites, besides the Orange, Kamissoko's full offer sheet includes schools such as Villanova, Louisville, Fordham, NJIT, Marist, Rhode Island, Youngstown State and Sacred Heart.
Kamissoko securing a 'Cuse offer isn't a huge surprise. He's a top-flight prospect in the sophomore cycle. Also, in late August of this year, Kamissoko competed in the Orange's annual Elite Camp, per various media reports around that time.
Kamissoko, who runs on the AAU circuit with the Bronx, N.Y.-based PSA Cardinals in Nike’s EYBL league, will continue to see his scholarship offer list grow, especially as college coaches can start initiating direct communication with 2027 prospects on June 15 of next year.
To date, I'm aware of at least three other high school sophomores who have received an offer from Syracuse basketball. They are five-star power forward/center Paul Osaruyi of CIA Bella Vista in Phoenix (another EYBL Scholastic member), five-star forward Baba Oladotun of James Hubert Blake High School in Silver Spring, Md., and four-star power forward Zion Green of the Imhotep Institute Charter High School in Philadelphia.
