Syracuse basketball freshman shooting guard Kiyan Anthony from New York City has signed a name, image and likeness ("NIL") deal with Jordan Brand Basketball to be a part of its 2025 class. Jordan Brand Basketball is a standalone division within Nike.

The 6-foot-5 Anthony, who has gotten off to a strong start in the 2025-26 campaign as a freshman for his dad's alma mater, is joined in Jordan Brand Basketball's class of 2025 by forward Sarah Strong, who, as a freshman, helped lead UConn to a national title a season ago, and Duke freshmen Cameron Boozer, a power forward, and Cayden Boozer, a point guard.

Anthony's inclusion in Jordan Brand Basketball's 2025 class was noted in a press release this week. A huge congrats to Kiyan. Over the next several days, the Orange is competing at the NIL-driven Players Era Festival in Las Vegas.

Anthony is the son of Orange legend Carmelo Anthony, who led the 'Cuse to its only national championship in men's basketball as a freshman during the 2002-03 term. Melo, a Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Famer in its 2025 class, is a longtime Jordan Brand athlete.

According to the recent announcement, Kiyan Anthony's first pair of Jordan sneakers was gifted to him by the iconic Michael Jordan himself. That's freaking cool.

"To be part of the Jordan Brand family, to me, means carrying on a legacy," Anthony said in the media statement. "I want my legacy to be more than just basketball. I want it to be on and off the court, giving back to the community, doing everything I can to uphold my last name and carry the torch."

Anthony, who has more than one million followers on Instagram, is an extremely marketable college basketball player, for numerous reasons. He has other NIL deals in place, too. Anthony has said he's likely to suit up for the 'Cuse for two seasons before pursuing a professional career.

In the 2025 class, recruiting services had Anthony as a top-30 national prospect, a top-10 shooting guard and the No. 1 player hailing from the Empire State. He had a solid senior season at the powerhouse Long Island Lutheran High School in Brookville, N.Y., despite missing some time due to an injury, and Anthony suited up in several All-America showcases last spring before joining the Syracuse basketball program.
