Syracuse basketball is out of the running for 2026 four-star small forward and top-40 national prospect Ralph Scott from Bermuda, which is a bummer.

According to a post on X from recruiting analyst Sam Kayser, the 6-foot-8 Scott has canceled his October official visit to the Orange and has a final four of Purdue, Tennessee, Houston and Texas A&M.

The 'Cuse staff got involved with Scott relatively late in the 2026 cycle, offering him a scholarship in August. He was reportedly going to officially visit the Orange during the weekend that begins on October 17.

Scott, who went to Jim Boeheim's summer camps as a youngster while a member of the Team Hurricane grassroots basketball program in Bermuda, is a senior with the varsity gold team at the powerhouse IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla.

Things are starting to come into focus for Syracuse basketball in the 2026 class.

Amid the fall recruiting period, Orange coaches are welcoming various recruits in the 2026 and 2027 cycles to the Hill on unofficial or official visits. Here's the latest:
•2027 five-star power forward Zion Green unofficially visited in late August
•2026 four-star shooting guard Dakari Spear took an official visit in the first weekend of September
2027 four-star center Theo Edema officially visited last weekend
•2026 five-star point guard Deron Rippey Jr. and 2026 four-star wing/small forward Vaughn Karvala will officially visit next weekend
•2026 four-star big man Asher Elson will officially visit during the weekend that begins on October 10

As it relates to the 'Cuse 2026 class, here's my best guess at Syracuse basketball's top targets in this cycle these days:
•Four-star shooting guard Dakari Spear
•Five-star point guard Deron Rippey Jr.
•Four-star wing/small forward Vaughn Karvala
•Four-star big man Asher Elson

Outside of these four, keep an eye on these 2026 prospects:
•Five-star shooting guard Jordan Smith Jr.
•Five-star guard/small forward Alex Constanza
•Four-star power forward MJ Madison
•Four-star center Aliou Dioum
•Five-star forward Christian Collins

Smith has unofficially visited 'Cuse. Constanza has officially visited. Both could take second trips to Central New York. Madison, in the past, has expressed an interest in visiting the Orange. Dioum has Syracuse basketball in his top six. The 'Cuse staff has visited Collins on the AAU circuit and during a recent open gym at his California high school.
