Syracuse basketball appears to be recruiting one of the top centers in the junior class hard these days.

Per a recent report from top On3 national reporter Joe Tipton, 2026 four-star center and top-40 national prospect Keiner Asprilla is hearing from six suitors the most frequently, and they are the Orange, Kansas, Auburn, Illinois, Seton Hall and Villanova.

Tipton notes that Asprilla has taken visits to Missouri and Providence. In late November of last year, the 'Cuse staff was reportedly in to see Asprilla amid the fall recruiting period at that time.

To the best of my knowledge, Asprilla hasn't yet received a formal scholarship offer from Syracuse basketball, although clearly Orange coaches are showing an interest in the talented big man.

Syracuse basketball is in regular contact with 2026 4-star center Keiner Asprilla.

Asprilla's full offer sheet, according to his X page and recruiting services, includes schools such as Florida State, Pepperdine, Missouri, Kansas, Villanova, LSU, Seton Hall, UCF, Auburn, Bryant, Kansas State and Northern Illinois.

In the 2024-25 season so far, the 7-foot Asprilla has put up some terrific performances for the Saint Peter's Preparatory School in Jersey City, N.J., according to social media posts.

Last July, at the annual Peach Jam tournament in North Augusta, S.C., on Nike's EYBL circuit, Asprilla earned praise from analysts and scouts for his play up a division for the 17U team of the New York City-based NY Renaissance.

Currently, his highest 2026 national ranking comes courtesy of Rivals.com, which places Asprilla at No. 36 overall. When I wrote this piece, within his class, both the industry-generated 247Sports Composite and the industry-generated On3 Industry Ranking had him in the top 45 nationally, the top two at center and the top two within New Jersey.

As far as the Orange staff's recruiting efforts in the 2026 cycle, I'm aware of at least two other big men whom the 'Cuse is pursuing. One is four-star center Aliou Dioum of CIA Bella Vista in Phoenix, who picked up a scholarship offer from Syracuse basketball in late October of last year.

The other is four-star power forward/center Darius Ratliff of Archbishop Stepinac High School in White Plains, N.Y. Per a post from the X account PD Web, a scouting service, Orange general manager Alex Kline was expected to attend an Archbishop Stepinac game this past Sunday.
