Amid the fall recruiting period, the Syracuse basketball staff is expected to be in for one of the top big men in the 2026 class this weekend.

As first reported by top 247Sports national analyst Dushawn London, the Orange coaching staff this Sunday will check in on 2026 four-star center Keiner Asprilla.

The 7-foot Asprilla, a top-50 national prospect in the junior cycle, attends the Saint Peter's Preparatory School in Jersey City, N.J.

According to his X page, Asprilla currently holds more than 10 scholarship offers. It would not surprise me if the 'Cuse offered a scholarship to him on Sunday or soon thereafter.

Syracuse basketball is showing an interest in a top-flight 2026 center.

Per his X account, Asprilla's full offer sheet includes schools such as Pepperdine, Missouri, Kansas, Villanova, LSU, Seton Hall, UCF, Auburn, Bryant, Kansas State and Northern Illinois.

In July, at the annual Peach Jam tournament in North Augusta, S.C., that is run by Nike's EYBL circuit, Asprilla played well and up a division as he competed for the 17U team of the New York City-based NY Renaissance.

Per the EYBL's Web site, at Peach Jam, Asprilla averaged 7.0 points and 8.0 rebounds in 18.6 minutes per game. Various national analysts and scouts praised him for his performances throughout the Peach Jam event.

Within the 2026 class, Asprilla is rated in the top 50 nationally by virtually all of the primary recruiting services. At the time of this writing, the industry-generated 247Sports Composite had him at No. 41 overall, No. 2 at center and No. 2 in New Jersey.

Over at the industry-generated On3 Industry Ranking, Asprilla was No. 40 nationwide, No. 2 at center and No. 3 in New Jersey within his cycle.

I'm aware of at least 15 high school juniors who so far have landed scholarship offers from Syracuse basketball, with the most recent being four-star small forward and top-55 national prospect Vaughn Karvala of Oregon High School in Oregon, Wis.

Many of those offers to 2026 prospects have gone out to point guards, shooting guards and small forwards out on the wing. The Orange staff has offered one center in the junior cycle, and he is four-star Aliou Dioum, a top-70 national prospect out of CIA Bella Vista in Phoenix.

The 6-foot-11 Dioum, who is a top-10 center in the 2026 class, disclosed his Syracuse basketball scholarship offer on October 30.
