Teams that the 6-foot-3, 187-pound Jones has heard from include Syracuse basketball, USC, Providence, Indiana, SMU, Miami, California, Wake Forest, Texas and LSU, among others.
Jones had a breakout sophomore season in 2025-26 for Radford, which is located in Radford, Va., and hails from the Big South Conference. In his freshman season, Jones suited up for fellow Atlantic Coast Conference member Clemson.
For what it's worth, about a year ago, the former Orange staff also reached out to Jones, who comes from Landover, Md., in the DMV, during the spring transfer portal window, although he ended up at Radford.
Syracuse basketball coaches have reached out to various transfer prospects.
In 2025-26, Radford went 16-16 overall. Jones appeared in all 32 games, averaging 31.7 minutes, 17.2 points, 3.5 rebounds and 3.5 assists per contest while making 41.6 percent from the field, 30.9 percent from beyond the arc and 80.9 percent from the free-throw line.
For his sophomore-year performance, Jones was named to the All-Big South Conference second team. At Clemson in his freshman campaign, Jones averaged 11.8 minutes, 3.8 points, 1.5 rebounds and 1.0 assists per game while connecting on 40.3 percent from the field, 31.1 percent from 3-point land and 76.5 percent from the charity stripe.
As a prep recruit, Jones was a four-star prospect in the 2024 class, per ESPN. According to recruiting services, during high school, it appears that he played at the AZ Compass Prep School in Chandler, Ariz., as well as in the Atlanta-based league Overtime Elite.
The 'Cuse 2026-27 back-court, so far, will include returnee Kiyan Anthony, a freshman, along with Siena four-star transfer guard Gavin Doty and Slovenian wing Mark Morano Mahmutovič, a four-star player in the 2026 class who likey can compete at either shooting guard or small forward.
