North Dakota State senior guard Jacari White, a four-star transfer prospect, has heard from a bunch of potential college suitors, including Syracuse basketball, according to a media report.
The 6-foot-3, 180-pound White, who hails from Orlando, Fla., is garnering some level of interest from teams such as the Orange, Alabama, Boston College, BYU, Florida State, Georgia Tech, Illinois, Tennessee, Texas A&M and Virginia Tech, among others, per a post on X from top national reporter Joe Tipton of On3.

White, in the 2024-25 season for Summit League member North Dakota State (21-11 overall), averaged 30.9 minutes, 17.1 points, 4.3 rebounds and 2.3 assists per contest, while he connected on 45.2 percent from the field, 39.8 percent from beyond the arc and 85.2 percent from the free-throw line.
This past term, White was named to the All-Summit League second team as well as the NABC All-Mountain District second squad. As a junior in 2023-24, White was voted to the Summit League's All-Defensive team.
When I wrote this article, in national transfer rankings, White was in the top 15 overall and in the top five at shooting guard on both the 247Sports and On3 Web sites.
This is a critical off-season for Syracuse basketball.
The Orange finished the 2024-25 stanza at a disappointing 14-19 overall, missing the NCAA Tournament for the fourth straight year. Five of the team's 12 scholarship players from this past season have exhausted their college eligibility.
Late last week, word came out that 'Cuse redshirt junior guard Kyle Cuffe Jr. will enter the transfer portal. The spring transfer portal window officially opens on March 24 and runs through April 22, so we should know soon what other players on the Orange's 2024-25 roster might join Cuffe in the portal.
The Syracuse basketball 2025 class at the high school level, currently ranked in the top 10 nationally by the industry-generated 247Sports Composite, features four signees, three of whom are rated as four stars.
We should also hear more in the near future about which players transferring out of their current college programs this off-season might get pursued by Syracuse basketball coaches. To that end, as I noted in a separate column, the Orange staff has displayed interest in Drexel transfer guard Kobe Magee, a junior who also excels from 3-point land.
The 6-foot-6, 205-pound Magee, in the most recent season, averaged 14.0 points, 5.6 rebounds, 1.9 assists and 1.0 steals per encounter. He was named to the All-CAA third team.
