Lucas Morillo, a fast-rising combo guard in the 2026 class, is a talented prospect for Syracuse basketball fans to monitor.

The 6-foot-7 Morillo, not too long ago, shot into the national rankings for his cycle. So far this spring on the AAU circuit, he's playing at a high level, earning praise from numerous national analysts and scouts.

What's more, in the 2024-25 campaign, he put forth an award-winning, All-American season for The Newman School in Boston, which went 31-9 overall and claimed the New England Preparatory School Athletic Council ("NEPSAC") Class AAA title, with Morillo earning tournament MVP honors.

Understandably, Morillo is capturing more national attention, and his scholarship offer sheet is growing. A source told me not too long ago that he is on the radar of the Orange coaching staff.

Syracuse basketball is showing an interest in 2026 4-star guard Lucas Morillo.

This spring and summer, Morillo is suiting up for the 17U team of the Albany, N.Y.-based City Rocks, a grassroots hoops program on Nike's EYBL circuit that has sent some of its alumni to the 'Cuse over the years.

In the current AAU season, Morillo is playing for the City Rocks alongside 2026 four-star power forward MJ Madison, who recently picked up a scholarship offer from the Orange and is interested in potentially visiting Syracuse basketball in the future, I've been told.

Morillo, a native of Mount Vernon, N.Y., is averaging 15.9 points, 7.6 rebounds and 3.6 assists per contest for the City Rocks as the EYBL league conducts its third spring session through Memorial Day in Kansas City, Kan., and Kansas City, Mo.

According to his X page and recruiting services, Morillo's offer list includes schools such as VCU, UCLA, Creighton, George Washington, Georgetown, Marquette, Penn State, Illinois, Boston College, Xavier, Iowa and Washington, among others. It would not surprise me if he ultimately landed a scholarship offer from Syracuse basketball.

When ESPN recently updated its 2026 ratings, Morillo entered these rankings at No. 64 nationally. On3, too, refreshed its national rankings for this class not too long ago, and Morillo entered these ratings at No. 87 overall.

Morillo is currently unranked by 247Sports, but I anticipate that will change sooner rather than later, based on some recent comments I've come across from national analysts and scouts.
