Alex Constanza, a five-star guard/small forward and top-10 national prospect in the 2026 class, has set his official visit to Syracuse basketball, which is wonderful news.
The 6-foot-8 Constanza, who hails from Florida, will take an official visit to the Orange starting this Friday, per multiple media reports. His dad, Ed Constanza, confirmed this trip to the Hill via text messages on Wednesday.
Alex Constanza's scheduled visit to the 'Cuse comes not long after assistant coach Allen Griffin, who is the Orange's lead recruiter for Constanza, watched him during a recent open gym at his high school, the Westminster Academy in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., amid the fall recruiting period.
In August, I reported that Constanza was eyeing an official visit to Syracuse basketball sometime this fall, per his dad, and now that trip to Central New York is on the calendar.
Syracuse basketball will soon host 2026 5-star Alex Constanza on an official visit.
The Orange staff offered a scholarship to Constanza in mid-January of this year. His full offer sheet totals around 30 and continues to grow. Some of Constanza's more recent offers have arrived from Cincinnati, Southern California, Oregon, Miami, Tennessee and Arkansas. Additionally, heavyweight programs including Kentucky are showing an interest in him.
Constanza earned All-America honors as a sophomore at Westminster and is poised to contend for such a distinction yet again as a junior in the upcoming 2024-25 season, when the Lions will likely compete for a top-25 national ranking, several high school basketball experts have said.
In late August, Constanza took an unofficial visit to Miami. His dad says that his son is looking at upcoming visits to other suitors such as Illinois, Baylor and Florida State, among others.
Regarding his official visit to Syracuse basketball this weekend, Constanza is "excited, but I feel like once he sees the school that will also bring it more to life," his dad, Ed Constanza, tells me. I'll certainly touch base with his dad next week to see how his son's official visit to the Orange went.
Currently, all of the main recruiting services rate Alex Constanza in the top 25 nationally of his class. Rivals.com has him at No. 10 overall, while the industry-generated 247Sports Composite places Constanza at No. 11 nationwide, No. 3 at small forward and No. 2 within Florida in the 2026 cycle.
To that end, his dad did tell me that Constanza is contemplating a move to the 2025 class, but no decision has been made yet on that topic. The Orange, so far, has two verbal pledges in this cycle, from five-star forward Sadiq White Jr. from Charlotte, N.C., and three-star wing Aaron Womack from the Milwaukee area.
One of the key remaining targets for Syracuse basketball coaches in the senior class is four-star shooting guard Kiyan Anthony from New York City, who has the 'Cuse in his final three. Anthony took an official visit to the Hill in late October of last year, and it looks like he may go on a second official visit to the Orange this coming weekend as well, according to his bio on Rivals.com.
