Elite rising junior Alex Constanza, a five-star guard/small forward and a top-five national prospect in the 2026 class, will take an official visit to Syracuse basketball this fall, according to his dad, Ed Constanza.

Alex Constanza and his dad are working to finalize an exact date with Orange assistant coach Allen Griffin, the program's lead recruiter for the 6-foot-8 Constanza, who is rated inside the top 15 of his cycle by every main recruiting service.

Ed Constanza tells me via text message that his son and Griffin have "very good communication" with one another, and Alex Constanza is "definitely intrigued" by Syracuse basketball. As I first reported, the 'Cuse offered a scholarship to Constanza in mid-January of this year.

To date, Constanza has received around 30 offers in total. Some of his more recent offers have arrived from schools such as Southern California, Oregon, Ole Miss, Florida Atlantic, Miami, Tennessee and Arkansas.

Five-star wing Alex Constanza will officially visit Syracuse basketball in the coming months.

Per his dad, Constanza is eyeing official visits to various other suitors. Some possible visit destinations include Florida State, Miami, Florida, Arkansas, Florida Atlantic, Dayton and Tennessee, among others.

On June 15, college coaches could start initiating direct communication with rising juniors in high school. Once the 2026 contact period opened, Constanza heard from a flood of college squads, such as the Orange.

On Wednesday, my friend and top writer Jacob Polacheck noted that blue-blood program Kentucky is in communication with Constanza, and that includes head coach Mark Pope and assistant coach Jason Hart, who is a former Syracuse basketball star.

Constanza, some recruiting analysts have told me, can make a run at the No. 1 national ranking in the 2026 class. Both the industry-generated 247Sports Composite and the industry-generated On3 Industry Ranking have him in the top 10 overall, while Constanza checks in at No. 4 from On3.

As a sophomore during the 2023-24 campaign, Constanza was a standout at the Westminster Academy in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., which went 23-6 overall and is viewed as a potential preseason top-25 national group ahead of the 2024-25 term, according to high school hoops experts.

In his sophomore year, Constanza earned numerous awards and honors, with MaxPreps naming him an All-American after averaging 20.9 points, 9.7 rebounds, 4.9 assists, 1.0 steals and 1.8 blocks per contest for the Lions.

This spring and summer, Constanza has landed high marks from analysts and scouts for his performances on several AAU circuits and at other showcases. Additionally, in late May, Constanza was selected to compete in a USA Basketball U18 national team training camp in Colorado Springs, Colo.

I'll obviously stay in touch with Ed Constanza to report back once a date is finalized for his son's upcoming official visit to Syracuse basketball. The competition to prevail for Alex Constanza, clearly, is intense, and it is growing.

However, I think the Orange staff, led by Griffin, is doing a strong job to evolve into a significant contender for Alex in his recruitment.
