Vaughn Karvala, a four-star small forward in the 2026 class from Wisconsin, visited Syracuse basketball last November. And the 6-foot-6 wing may make another trip to the Hill in the future.
Karvala, a fast-rising, top-70 national prospect in the rising senior class, recently caught up with top national analyst/scout Jamie Shaw of On3. This article is a subscriber-exclusive, and I always respect Jamie's work.
However, I did trade messages with Jamie directly on X, and he confirmed to me that Karvala is talking about setting up an official visit to the Orange and Ole Miss out of the Southeastern Conference. By the way, I highly recommend giving Jamie a follow and subscribing to his On3 content.
In the 2024-25 campaign, as a junior, Karvala was fabulous for Oregon High School in Oregon, Wis., and he won numerous awards, according to posts on X. This spring and summer on the AAU circuit, he is competing for the 17U squad of the Milwaukee-based Team Herro in Nike's EYBL league.
Syracuse basketball appears to be recruiting 2026 four-star Vaughn Karvala hard.
This weekend, the EYBL is holding its third spring session, in Kansas City, Kan., and Kansas City, Mo. In July, the Nike circuit will hold its season-ending Peach Jam tournament.
Through two sessions, Team Herro was 4-3 overall. Last weekend, in Memphis, Tenn., Karvala was lauded by the experts at The Circuit for his performances amid a live period with college coaches in attendance. Per a source, the Syracuse basketball staff was on hand for this EYBL session in Memphis.
Ahead of this third session, Karvala was averaging 14.7 points, 5.6 rebounds and 1.3 blocks per contest, according to the EYBL Web site.
Regarding Karvala's recruitment, he picked up a scholarship offer from the Orange around the time that he visited this past November. Per recruiting Web sites, his offer sheet also includes schools such as Arizona State, Iowa, Marquette, Ole Miss and Wisconsin, among others.
Karvala recently shared via his X page that he has been selected to compete in the prestigious NBPA top 100 camp, an annual event that this year will take place from June 9 to June 13 in Rock Hill, S.C.
I'll monitor whether Karvala ends up scheduling an official visit to the Orange. I hope that he does. He's a talented and under-rated prospect. I get the sense that Syracuse basketball coaches are really high on Vaughn.
