Nike's EYBL circuit made its way to Kansas City, Kan., for the Memorial Day weekend, and Syracuse basketball recruiting targets have played at a high level so far during this third spring session.
This latest stop runs through May 25, after beginning this past Friday. College coaches aren't in attendance, but national analysts and scouts are.
As I wrote in another article on Sunday, the new Orange staff, led by head coach Gerry McNamara, is ramping up its high school recruiting efforts, with new offers and interest to prospects in the 2027 and 2028 classes.
One EYBL team that caught the attention of analysts and scouts on Saturday was the Charlotte, N.C.-based Team United, whose roster in the main 17U division features several SU recruits.
Eric Bossi, the national basketball director at 247Sports, noted in an article that Syracuse basketball is among the college programs that, in recent months, have been prioritizing 2027 five-star point guard King
Gibson, who is the No. 3 national prospect, per the industry-generated Rivals Industry Ranking. Gibson, offered a scholarship by the Orange in mid-May, plays for Team United.
