Elijah Kimble, the four-star running back from Buffalo, N.Y., recently committed to Syracuse football, and he says that he can't wait to get up to the Hill with his fellow 2027 pledges. Speaking of the Orange's 2027 class, a key remaining target for the 'Cuse has set his commitment date for later this summer.
Currently, SU has 24 verbal pledges in a 2027 class that is No. 34 nationally via 247Sports and No. 45 overall per Rivals. The 5-foot-10, 185-pound Kimble, out of Buffalo's Canisius High School, verbally committed to Syracuse football on July 3 and is the team's highest-ranked pledge to date.
Kimble recently told WKBW in Buffalo that he and other Orange pledges in the 2027 cycle have a group chat where they text every morning and send each other updates, which is awesome. He added: "It's real surreal that in a couple of months, I'll be off with those guys working on something that we all want."

Full story coming later tonight but wanted to leave the #Cuse 🍊 fans with this little snippet pic.twitter.com/nu8nWplNRX
An interesting note here is that, per media reports, it appears that Kimble won't be enrolling early in the spring, but rather, he will arrive on the Hill next summer. He is one of at least three four-star prospects in the Orange's 2027 class, along with safety Jalen Welch out of Grayson High School in Loganville, Ga., and wide receiver Chanin Harris out of James F. Byrnes High School in Duncan, S.C.
Syracuse football has a key recruit left in the 2027 class.
The early signing period for the high school senior class will arrive in early December, so 'Cuse coaches will have to hold off any other college programs that are trying to flip Orange verbal pledges.
One 2027 target remaining is athlete Amari Eliano, a 6-foot-1, 185-pound defensive back/wide receiver out of Central Catholic High School in Toledo, Ohio. He is the son of Syracuse football defensive backs coach Perry Eliano.
DART: Love this. Talented 2027 wide receiver/athlete Amari Eliano out of Central Catholic High School in Toledo, Ohio, has locked in his upcoming Syracuse football official visit. He is the son of SU defensive backs coach Perry Eliano. Let's go, @Amari_Eliano! 🧡 https://t.co/2IcXjx3Tzb

Per 247Sports, Amari Eliano plans to announce his college decision on August 9, which is his birthday. He took an official visit to the 'Cuse last month and received a scholarship from head coach Fran Brown on June 21.
After a great conversation with @FranBrownCuse I am blessed to have received my first P4 offer from @CuseFootball🙌!!! @AllenTrieu @SWiltfong_ @GregSmithRivals @adamgorney @TomLoy247 @JaredLuginbill @ReggieWynns @coachdempsey3 @ToledoCCHS_FB @SkysTheLimitWR pic.twitter.com/Ug3fdUN7li

Eliano's full scholarship offer sheet includes other schools such as Bowling Green, Eastern Michigan, Miami (Ohio), Toledo and Western Michigan. While no official predictions have been logged in his recruitment, my sense is that the 'Cuse has an excellent shot at landing Eliano.
