Syracuse football continues to build out its solid 2027 class, and the Orange staff will host more official visitors this coming weekend.
On Thursday, word broke that the Orange had prevailed for 2027 high-three-star defensive lineman Jason Lewis out of Osceola High School in Kissimmee, Fla. Fellow Atlantic Coast Conference school Florida State, for a while, had analyst buzz in Lewis' recruitment.
However, the 'Cuse staff, led by head coach Fran Brown and general manager Tommy Caporale, ultimately prevailed for the 6-foot-4, 250-pound Lewis, who took an official visit to SU from June 12 to June 14.

Lewis is No. 627 overall, No. 79 at defensive lineman and No. 50 in talent-rich Florida within the 2027 cycle, according to the industry-generated 247Sports Composite. With a strong senior year, he could move to four stars, and Lewis holds 29 scholarship offers.
Syracuse football has prioritized him for a long time, first offering a scholarship to Lewis in May of last year. The Orange is now up to 19 verbal pledges in a 2027 class that is No. 36 nationally, per 247Sports. Six of those verbal commits hail from the Sunshine State.

More official visitors to Syracuse football this weekend.
This coming weekend is the last one for official visits to the Orange program ahead of a dead period that will last from June 22 through July 31. Here are the expected visitors to Syracuse football from June 19 to June 21, per a source of mine, social media posts and recruiting services:
•2027 three-star wide receiver Noah Collins-Howard out of Rush-Henrietta Senior High School in Henrietta, N.Y. (verbally committed to the 'Cuse in late March of this year)
•2027 wide receiver/athlete Amari Eliano out of Central Catholic High School in Toledo, Ohio (the son of SU defensive backs coach Perry Eliano)
•2027 offensive lineman Ben Sakyiama out of Archbishop Wood Catholic High School in Warminster, Pa.
DART: Love this. Talented 2027 wide receiver/athlete Amari Eliano out of Central Catholic High School in Toledo, Ohio, has locked in his upcoming Syracuse football official visit. He is the son of SU defensive backs coach Perry Eliano. Let's go, @Amari_Eliano! 🧡 https://t.co/2IcXjx3Tzb

Earlier this week, 2027 four-star offensive tackle Dewey Young, a top-200 national prospect out of Kalamazoo Central High School in Kalamazoo, Mich., also went on an official visit to the 'Cuse, as first reported by 247Sports.
Two other high school prospects are planning to take unofficial visits to Syracuse football this weekend. One is 2027 four-star running back Elijah Kimble out of Canisius High School in Buffalo, N.Y. The Orange has analyst buzz in his recruitment.
Dewey Young, a 4-star offensive tackle and a top-200 national prospect in the 2027 class, is on an official visit to Syracuse football, per 247Sports. The 6-foot-5, 285-pound Young, out of Kalamazoo Central High School in Kalamazoo, Mich., was offered by SU in April. Let's go! 🧡

Also, as first reported by 247Sports, Lewis is expected to unofficially visit Syracuse football this weekend amid his recent pledge to Brown and SU. On Friday morning, a source confirmed to me that Lewis will be on the 'Cuse campus this weekend for an unofficial visit.
