That did not look good.

Quarterback Steve Angeli exited the Clemson game in the third quarter with a non-contact injury and his return is questionable.

Angeli went down on a scramble without being touched and immediately grabbed his knee. He was helped off the field and was not putting any weight on his leg.

It's the second time Angeli had to leave the game with a lower-body injury. The first time he missed just one play. Angeli, who transferred from Notre Dame, had been having an excellent game, throwing for 244 yards and two touchdowns.

He was taken to the locker room on crutches with a boot on his foot

Angeli has been having a great season for Syracuse, following up a record-setting year by Kyle McCord. Through three-plus games, Angeli has thrown for 1,316 yards, eight touchdowns and two interceptions. He had a six-touchdown performance last week in a 66-24 win against Colgate.

"There's a lot of guys out there making plays. [Offensive line] did a great job, running backs, receivers catching the football, tight ends...it was really a collective effort," Angeli said. "And the best thing about that game was seeing the young guys get in there and have their chance to make some plays."

Rickie Collins, a transfer from LSU, came into the game to replace Angeli and almost immediately threw an 18-yard touchdown pass to Justus-Ross Simmons to give the Orange a 34-14 lead at the end of the third quarter.

The Orange entered the game a 17-point underdog, but head coach Fran Brown said that wasn't going to make a difference once the game started.

"I don't care about what Vegas said...Vegas said Canelo [Alvarez] was about to win, but [Terence] Crawford said different....I don't really pay attention to that," Brown said. "I'm not allowed to gamble or bet on us, so I don't pay attention to that."
