Messiah Delhomme, a consensus four-star athlete in the 2025 class from Virginia, has named a top six that features Syracuse football and some big-time college programs.

The 6-foot-1, 196-pound Delhomme said in a post on his X page that his top six consists of the Orange, Alabama, Ohio State, Maryland, Virginia Tech and Virginia.

I have to say, that's some pretty elite company for 'Cuse head coach Fran Brown and his top-flight staff. Delhomme is a standout at Warwick High School in Newport News, Va.

Per his X account, he says that he plays multiple positions, including wide receiver, running back and safety. Throughout his recruitment, he has amassed more than 20 high-major offers. He picked up a scholarship offer from the Orange on February 19 of this year.

Syracuse football remains in the running for stellar 2025 four-star athlete Messiah Delhomme.

According to recruiting services, beyond the 'Cuse, Delhomme's full offer sheet includes schools such as Alabama, Auburn, Boston College, Duke, Florida State, Kentucky, Maryland, Michigan, N.C. State, Ohio State, Penn State, Virginia, Virginia Tech and West Virginia, among others.

Under his bio on several recruiting Web sites, it notes that over the next few weeks, Delhomme has official visits scheduled to Virginia Tech, Virginia, Ohio State and Maryland. While he did take an unofficial visit to the Orange in April, I imagine that if Syracuse football hopes to prevail for him, SU coaches will want to get Delhomme on the Hill for an official visit at some point.

Virtually all the primary recruiting services rank Delhomme in the top 300 nationally of the rising senior cycle. Currently, his highest 2025 ratings come via 247Sports, which places Delhomme at No. 110 overall, No. 11 at safety and No. 4 in Virginia.

In late February of 2024, 247Sports national analyst Greg Biggins wrote an evaluation on Delhomme, writing in part, "Rare player who could excel on both sides of the ball as well as in the return game at the college level. Safety could be his meal ticket but shows the ability to play running back or receiver as well. Instinctive player with range and ball skills at safety. Attacks the football and has very good ball awareness. Has been a ball magnet the last couple of seasons and is a threat to score every time he turns it over. ... High football IQ should allow him to see the field early in college and definitely has NFL upside to him."

To date, the Orange staff has done a wonderful job with its 2025 class, securing at least 19 verbal commitments. Multiple recruiting services rate this Syracuse football cycle around the top 10 nationally.
