Caden Brown, a 2024 three-star edge and one of the top prospects across the state of New York in the senior class, will take a visit to Syracuse football this weekend, as first reported by The Juice Online on the Rivals.com network.
The 6-foot-4, 215-pound defensive end is the son of Alban Brown, who played linebacker for the Orange from 1987 to 1989.
Caden Brown, who holds a scholarship offer from the ‘Cuse and numerous other high-major programs, is a standout senior at Erasmus Hall High School in Brooklyn, N.Y.
Earlier this month, Erasmus defeated Tottenville High School in Staten Island, N.Y., for the New York City Public Schools Athletic League (“PSAL”) Class 4A championship.
Syracuse football appears to be a strong contender for 2024 three-star edge Caden Brown.
A couple of days ago, Brown said in part to 247Sports reporter James Finneral, “Syracuse is currently my top choice, mainly because of coach Brown. His coaching style aligns with what I appreciate in a program.”
Fran Brown, most recently the defensive backs coach at Georgia, was officially introduced by SU Athletics as the new head coach of the ‘Cuse on December 4, replacing Dino Babers.
Already, Brown and his assistants are hitting the recruiting trail hard, picking up verbal commitments from various 2024 players while also landing at least one commitment via the transfer portal so far in a short period of time.
This weekend, Caden Brown will be one of numerous players on the SU campus on official visits, to also include both college transfer targets as well as high school seniors who are verbally committed to the Orange.
The early signing period for 2024 prospects, by the way, is set to come on Wednesday, Dec. 20.
On Thursday when I wrote this article, I saw at least one prediction arrive in the direction of Syracuse football for Caden Brown on Rivals.com.
Multiple recruiting Web sites rate him as three stars and a top-five player in New York state within the 2024 cycle.
Both 247Sports and the industry-generated 247Sports Composite rank Brown as a top-50 edge in his class. Additionally, the 247Sports Composite and the industry-generated On3 Industry Ranking place him in the top-800 overall of the 2024 cycle.
Besides Syracuse football, his full offer sheet, according to recruiting services, includes college teams such as Boston College, Buffalo, Cincinnati, Georgia Tech, Liberty, Maryland, Michigan State, Nebraska, Penn State, Pittsburgh, Rutgers, Temple, Washington and West Virginia.
