Syracuse football has analyst buzz for four-star transfer Fadil Diggs, a defensive lineman with Southeastern Conference member Texas A&M, and the Orange is also set to get an official visit from him.

Brian Dohn, a national analyst at 247Sports, first reported the news that the 6-foot-5, 260-pound Diggs plans to take an official visit to the Hill this weekend.

Dohn’s piece is a subscriber-exclusive, however, Diggs’ official visit to the ‘Cuse was confirmed by multiple other media reports.

Naturally, this is great to hear. Diggs, a junior with the Aggies, recently entered the NCAA’s transfer portal. Texas A&M has a new head coach in former Duke boss Mike Elko, who has replaced Jimbo Fisher at the helm of the Aggies.

Four-star DL transfer Fadil Diggs will take an official visit to Syracuse football.

According to reports, Diggs will make a trip to SEC powerhouse Alabama on December 15. The next day, he is expected to officially visit the Orange.

As I noted in another recent article, on December 11, the ‘Cuse picked up a prediction in Diggs’ recruitment from top national analyst Steve Wiltfong, the director of recruiting for 247Sports.

Syracuse football is also the presumed heavy favorite for Diggs, per the On3 Web site. That being said, any time that Alabama and its head coach, Nick Saban, are in the mix, it’s something to monitor.

In national transfer rankings for this cycle, both 247Sports and the industry-generated On3 Industry Ranking rate Diggs as four stars. He is No. 28 overall and No. 5 at edge, per 247Sports, while Diggs checks in at No. 27 nationally per the On3 Industry Ranking.

In the recently completed 2023 regular season for Texas A&M, according to ESPN statistics, Diggs tallied 36 total tackles, 22 solo tackles, four sacks and two passes defended.

He was a four-star player in 2020 class who attended Woodrow Wilson High School in Camden, N.J., which is now known as Eastside High School. The 2019 New Jersey Gatorade Player of the Year, Diggs was ranked a top-200 overall player and a top-15 edge by multiple recruiting Web sites.

New Syracuse football head coach Fran Brown and new defensive coordinator Elijah Robinson, who are long-time friends, both grew up in Camden and have strong recruiting connections in New Jersey and around the Northeast corridor.

What’s more, Robinson is currently the interim head coach and co-defensive coordinator at Texas A&M.

On Tuesday, Brown and his staff scored their first commitment via the portal, as junior wide receiver Jackson Meeks said he would transfer from SEC juggernaut Georgia to the Orange.

On Wednesday morning, Will Norman, a freshman defensive lineman at SEC team Florida, said via his X page that he is taking an official visit to the ‘Cuse this weekend.

Norman, who picked up a scholarship offer from the Orange in September of 2022, was a four-star prospect in the 2023 class coming out of Eastside High School in Camden.

In high school, Norman’s highest set of rankings arrived from Rivals.com, which placed him at No. 91 nationwide, No. 8 at defensive tackle and No. 2 in New Jersey.

Per reports, Diggs and Norman will be among numerous college transfers and high school prospects on the SU campus this weekend for visits to Syracuse football.
