The primary recruiting services – 247Sports, ESPN, On3 and Rivals.com – have of late published their final national rankings for the 2024 class, and multiple Syracuse football four-star commits have soared in these refreshed ratings.

As I noted in a column over the weekend, Orange coaches have done a fabulous job with their 2024 recruiting efforts, securing pledges from a total of at least 32 combined players at the high school level and via the transfer portal.

Numerous of these Syracuse football commits, including high school seniors and college transfers, are rated as four stars and find themselves highly placed in national rankings.

While this article focuses on five commits who reside in the final 2024 national rankings of the four main recruiting Web sites, these ‘Cuse pledges and others are also rated four stars among the two industry-generated ranking systems, the 247Sports Composite and the On3 Industry Ranking.

Syracuse football commits are high up in final 2024 national rankings.

Over at Rivals.com, running back Yasin Willis of Saint Joseph Regional High School in Montvale, N.J., checks in at No. 203 nationally, No. 11 at his position and No. 2 in New Jersey.

Four-star tight end/wide receiver Jamie Tremble of The Wesleyan School in Peachtree Corners, Ga., moved all the way up to No. 167 overall, No. 6 at athlete and No. 19 in Georgia, according to 247Sports.

As far as I can tell, wide receiver Emanuel Ross of Red Bank Catholic High School in Red Bank, N.J., has the highest individual national ranking out of all of the Orange’s 2024 commits at the high school level. On3 places him at No. 118 nationwide, No. 19 at wide receiver and No. 2 in New Jersey.

Edge KingJoseph Edwards of Mill Creek High School in Hoschton, Ga., is No. 275 around the country, No. 37 at defensive end and No. 36 in Georgia, per ESPN.

Cornerback Marcellus Barnes Jr. out of The McCallie School in Chattanooga, Tenn., has arrived at No. 161 nationally, No. 22 at cornerback and No. 4 in Tennessee, according to On3.

What’s even more impressive is that, to the best of my knowledge, several of these highly rated commits were “new” recruits who landed Syracuse football scholarship offers after head coach Fran Brown officially took over the program in early December of last year.

When I wrote this column, the 247Sports Composite, the On3 Industry Ranking and Rivals.com all rated the Orange’s 2024 class, at the high school level, within the top 40 nationwide.
