Syracuse Football: Analyst predictions in Orange's direction for 3-star recruits
By Neil Adler
National analysts across two recruiting Web sites have logged predictions in the direction of Syracuse football for a pair of three-star targets.
These Orange recruits are 2025 athlete/quarterback Quentin Murphy and 2026 wide receiver Larry Miles. Both high school prospects received scholarship offers from the 'Cuse coaching staff in January of this year, per posts on their respective X pages.
The 6-foot-1, 205-pound Murphy will spend his senior year at the Parkview Arts and Science Magnet High School in Little Rock, Ark. According to his Instagram page, it looks like Murphy might be on a visit to Syracuse football as we speak.
The 6-foot, 175-pound Miles attends West Orange High School in Winter Garden, Fla. He took a visit to the Orange in late March, per his X account.
Syracuse football is getting some analyst buzz for two talented three-star players.
John Garcia Jr., a national analyst with Rivals.com, logged a projection for the Orange in Miles' recruitment in a recent article. The Rivals.com analyst wrote in part regarding Miles and the 'Cuse staff, "Each side has already talked about a return trip this offseason and the rising junior admits the Orange are his early leader. ... Now, other programs have shown interest and offers from LSU or UCF could shake things up, but Syracuse has a top-10 class in 2025 and is off to a strong start in Florida for 2026 and Miles could be among those next to jump in."
To Garcia's last statement, at the end of March, the 'Cuse got on the board in the 2026 cycle when four-star athlete/defensive back and top-80 national prospect Demetres Samuel Jr. verbally committed to Syracuse football. The 6-foot-2, 185-pound Samuel is a standout sophomore at Heritage High School in Palm Bay, Fla.
I also want to note that when I wrote this piece on Friday, On3's recruiting prediction machine had Syracuse football in the lead for Miles.
Shifting over to Murphy, I'm seeing at least two predictions on the On3 Web site in the Orange's favor for him. One of those projections is from Steve Wiltfong, arguably the top national recruiting analyst out there who recently joined On3 as its vice president of national college football recruiting and the transfer portal.
At the time of this writing, ESPN rated Murphy as the No. 6 dual-threat quarterback in the 2025 class. Per the industry-generated 247Sports Composite, he checked in at No. 450 nationally, No. 25 at athlete and No. 3 in Arkansas.
To date, Syracuse football has a dozen verbal pledges in its 2025 cycle, and this class on Friday arrived at No. 10 around the country, according to both the 247Sports Composite and Rivals.com.
