Recruiting service and media outlet 247Sports has refreshed its national transfer rankings this cycle, and two Syracuse football players are highly placed in these updated ratings.

Those two Orange players are four-star quarterback Kyle McCord and four-star edge Fadil Diggs. Diggs was a junior at Texas A&M who elected to move to the ‘Cuse (his younger brother is part of the Syracuse football 2024 class at the high school level).

Diggs, per 247Sports, is rated No. 54 overall and No. 8 at edge in these updated national transfer rankings.

McCord had a solid junior season at Ohio State, and then he transferred to the Orange for his senior year. In the 247Sports national transfer rankings, he checks in at No. 72 overall and No. 13 quarterback.

This off-season, head coach and ace recruiter Fran Brown and his staff have done a fabulous job with their 2024 cycle, both among high school seniors and college transfers.

National and Atlantic Coast Conference pundits have dished out a lot of praise to Brown and his assistants for their 2024 recruiting efforts.

Where other Syracuse football commits reside in 247Sports’ national transfer rankings.

•Georgia freshman wide receiver Yazeed Haynes, three stars, No. 199 overall

•Buffalo sophomore safety Devin Grant, three stars, No. 200 overall

•Alabama freshman defensive lineman Isaiah Hastings, three stars, No. 228 overall

•LSU junior cornerback Duce Chestnut, three stars, No. 360 overall

•New Mexico State junior defensive lineman Dion Wilson Jr., three stars, No. 365 overall

•Georgia junior wide receiver Jackson Meeks, three stars, No. 462 overall

•Georgia freshman offensive lineman Joshua Miller, three stars, No. 502 overall

•West Virginia freshman linebacker James Heard Jr., three stars, No. 736 overall

•Howard redshirt sophomore offensive lineman Da’Metrius Weatherspoon, three stars, No. 770 overall

•Grambling State sophomore offensive lineman Codie Hornsby, unranked

By the way, when I wrote this article on Friday night, 247Sports rated the Orange’s 2024 transfer class at No. 27 around the country. Not too shabby.

Rivals.com also had the ‘Cuse transfer class at No. 27 nationally, while over on the On3 Web site, this Syracuse football transfer cycle ranked at No. 12 nationwide, which is positively tremendous.
