Syracuse Football: 4-star, top-20 national prospect, nation's No. 1 linebacker, to visit
By Neil Adler
Consensus four-star junior Ty Jackson, who is a top-20 national prospect via On3 and the nation's No. 1 linebacker, will visit Syracuse football next month, according to recruiting services and multiple media reports.
In late February, the 6-foot-2, 205-pound Jackson, who plays high school ball in Florida, disclosed a top 10 of the Orange, Tennessee, Florida State, Florida, Miami, Penn State, Georgia, Oklahoma, Alabama and Texas A&M.
Jackson plans to take a visit to the 'Cuse on April 20, and he's got a variety of other spring trips and official visits scheduled in the coming weeks and months, per reports and recruiting Web sites.
I'm seeing that he has official visits slated for late May and into June to Penn State, Georgia, Florida State and Tennessee.
Understandably, the competition for Syracuse football head coach Fran Brown and his staff to prevail in Jackson's recruitment is tremendously intense, but I do find it encouraging that the Orange has scored a visit and made the top 10 of such a highly rated national prospect.
Syracuse football will get a visit next month from 2025 four-star linebacker Ty Jackson.
In early January of this year, the new 'Cuse coaching staff offered a scholarship to Jackson, who according to 247Sports has landed nearly 30 offers from a range of high-major programs throughout his recruiting process.
Jackson is a standout junior at Seminole Ridge Community High School in Loxahatchee, Fla. In the most recent 2023 season, per the MaxPreps Web site, he tallied a whopping 135 total tackles, four tackles for a loss, two sacks, two interceptions, four forced fumbles and one fumble recovery.
With the 2025 cycle, Jackson is ranked No. 16 overall, No. 1 at linebacker and No. 2 in Florida, according to On3. ESPN puts him in the top 40 nationally and the No. 1 inside linebacker.
At the time of this writing, the industry-generated On3 Industry Ranking placed Jackson at No. 77 nationwide, No. 10 at linebacker and No. 10 in Florida within his class.
To date, Syracuse football has secured at least five verbal commitments in its 2025 cycle, buoyed by two pledges this past Saturday evening. This Orange class, currently, hovers around the top 40 around the country, and 'Cuse coaches are in pursuit of numerous other high school juniors who are rated either four stars or even five stars.
