Syracuse Football: 4-star recruits rave about Orange’s direction, buzz on the Hill
By Neil Adler
Over the past two Saturdays, Syracuse football coaches have held junior days, welcoming a flood 2025 four-star and three-star targets to the Hill on unofficial visits.
In a bunch of interviews following those two junior days, numerous high school prospects have spoken highly about the direction of the ‘Cuse program under new head coach Fran Brown and his staff.
These recruits also got to take in Syracuse basketball games at the JMA Wireless Dome. Two Saturdays ago, in the afternoon, sophomore wing Quadir Copeland nailed a 3-pointer at the buzzer as the ‘Cuse stunned Miami.
This past Saturday evening, Syracuse basketball took down N.C. State, as Orange legend Dave Bing was inducted into the SU Athletics Ring of Honor.
I should note that, in recent weeks, Syracuse football coaches have also welcomed targets in other recruiting classes to Central New York on visits as well.
All in all, many of these visitors say that the atmosphere inside the Dome is both noticeable and exciting, and they sense a palpable buzz on the SU campus and, by extension, within the ‘Cuse program.
Syracuse football recruits are high on the way the Orange is trending.
Analyst Charles Kang of The Juice Online recently spoke to various ‘Cuse targets following this past Saturday’s junior day, and these players’ comments were fabulous. Let’s take a look at what some of them had to say.
Dawayne Galloway Jr., a 2025 four-star cornerback/athlete out of Marion-Franklin High School in Columbus, Ohio., said, “It was great. Great place. Great people. Coach Fran is my guy for sure.” Galloway, by the way, is a top-100 national prospect in his class, per several recruiting Web sites.
Three-star Kentrell Rinehart, a stellar 2025 running back who will spend his senior year at Westland High School in Galloway, Ohio, said, “I had a real good time. It opened my eyes for sure.”
Jayden Loftin, a three-star edge in the 2025 cycle out of Somerville High School in Somerville, N.J., noted that the Syracuse football coaches “bring a new energy to the building. Always nice to be back in the Dome.”
Amari Sabb is a 2026 athlete who suits up at defensive back and wide receiver for Glassboro High School in Glassboro, N.J.
Sabb, who resided on the MaxPreps 2022 freshman All-America second team, told The Juice Online, “The atmosphere is different, the energy in the building good. Cuse going to be really good.” I like hearing that.
Solomon Martin, a 2024 wide receiver who attends the Providence Academy in Plymouth, Minn., told The Juice Online that the Orange is “definitely in my top 3. It’s an amazing environment especially with all the new renovations that are coming later this year and in 2025.”
As I’ve said numerous times lately, it remains to be seen how Brown and his staff will fare in the 2024 season and beyond. But from a recruiting standpoint, this new Syracuse football staff is knocking it out of the park.
So many fans, in recent weeks, have remarked to me on social media that this is the most enthusiastic they’ve been on the ‘Cuse program in a long time.
