At present, the highest-rated commit in the Syracuse football 2024 class, if we’re talking about high school seniors, is four-star tight end/wide receiver Jamie Tremble from Georgia.
The 6-foot-4, 210-pound Tremble, who had a tremendous senior season, was one of 24 players to officially sign with the ‘Cuse this past Wednesday, at the start of the early signing period, which closed on Friday.
The team’s 2024 cycle includes 18 high school seniors and six transfers. On the high school side, perhaps no commitment was more important to the Orange than Tremble, who is a standout at The Wesleyan School in Peachtree Corners, Ga.
Tremble, who recently made a huge jump in the national rankings for his class, verbally committed to the ‘Cuse in June, when Dino Babers was still at the helm of the program.
However, not too long ago, a couple of recruiting analysts noted that while Tremble was still high on Syracuse football with new head coach Fran Brown in charge, there was some speculation that Tremble may not sign with the Orange during the early signing period, while also potentially taking visits to other suitors in the near future.
That didn’t transpire. Tremble officially signed with Syracuse football, and it proved a big-time recruiting win for Brown and his staff.
Syracuse football head coach Fran Brown raves about four-star receiver Jamie Tremble.
Last Wednesday, Brown conducted a press conference with media members to discuss the Orange’s 2024 class. Brown took a little time to chat about Tremble, praising the ‘Cuse commit for his athletic ability and versatility.
“Jamie is a freakshow. He’s a freak athlete,” Brown said. The Syracuse football head coach noted that Tremble is a tight end, but he can also “go out wide” as a more traditional receiver.
Brown mentioned the “pedigree” of Tremble’s family, citing that his parents were athletes. Also, Tremble’s old brother, Tommy, was a tight end at Notre Dame who now suits up in the NFL for the Carolina Panthers.
Brown says that Jamie Tremble is “very intelligent” and detail oriented.
In the 2023 season for Wesleyan, Tremble caught 58 passes for 1,178 yards and 15 touchdowns, according to MaxPreps.
A few days ago, he shared via his X page that he was named the Gwinnett County player of the year for the most recent term.
Top expert John Garcia Jr., a national analyst at Rivals.com, recently said on X that Tremble is "going to get a bump to a blue chip recruit on (Rivals.com).”
Not too long ago, 247Sports refreshed its 2024 national rankings, and that recruiting service moved Tremble up to No. 196 overall, No. 13 at tight end and No. 23 in Georgia within the senior cycle.
Over at the industry-generated On3 Industry Ranking, when I wrote this column, he checked in at No. 277 nationwide, No. 18 at tight end and No. 30 in Georgia.
I couldn’t be more excited that Brown and his staff were able to keep Tremble committed to the ‘Cuse, and I have every confidence that this young man will shine on the Hill in the future.
