Syracuse Football: 3-star defensive back from Baltimore to visit ‘Cuse in April

Byron Baldwin, a three-star defensive back in the 2025 class who hails from the Baltimore area, plans to visit Syracuse football later this year.

Per a post on X from TheKnightReport.Net on the Rivals.com network, the 6-foot, 180-pound Baldwin will visit the ‘Cuse on April 19. The Orange’s annual spring game, by the way, is set for April 20.

Baldwin, a standout junior at the Calvert Hall College High School in Towson, Md., holds nearly 20 scholarship offers from a range of high-major programs.

Baldwin picked up an offer from the ‘Cuse on December 13 of last year, he said via his X page.

Syracuse football will get a visit from 2025 three-star DB Byron Baldwin.

Between late March and late May, according to TheKnightReport.Net, Baldwin also plans to visit Vanderbilt, Indiana, Kentucky, Minnesota and Rutgers.

According to social media posts and recruiting services, Baldwin’s full offer sheet also includes teams such as Minnesota, Kentucky, Pittsburgh, Marshall, Akron, Indiana, Rutgers, West Virginia, East Carolina, Wisconsin, Boston College, Towson, James Madison, Vanderbilt, Kent State and UNC Charlotte.

In the 2023 season, as a junior at Calvert Hall, Baldwin was named to the All-State second team on defense, per a post on X in late December from his head coach, Josh Ward.

In his junior term, Baldwin says that he tallied 89 total tackles, two interceptions, four pass break-ups and two forced fumbles. You can also see some of his statistics on the MaxPreps Web site.

Syracuse football coaches, over the past two months, have proven quite active with their 2025 recruiting efforts. They’ve hosted targets on the SU campus for unofficial visits as part of several junior days.

Orange coaches have hit the road to visit a bunch of high school programs, while also doling out scholarship offers to a range of 2025 high school prospects.

In late January, Syracuse football scored its first 2025 pledge, as four-star edge and top-300 national prospect Sharlandiin Strange from Pennsylvania verbally committed to the ‘Cuse over other finalists Penn State, Pittsburgh, Rutgers and Southern California

The 6-foot-4, 245-pound Strange is a star at Cheltenham High School in Wyncote, Pa. He collected more than 20 offers throughout his recruiting process, and Strange was initially offered by Syracuse football coaches in January of 2023.
