Syracuse Basketball: Trio of 2025 4-star priority targets to visit again this weekend
By Neil Adler
Three Syracuse basketball priority recruiting targets in the 2025 class are eyeing a visit to the Hill this coming weekend to watch the Orange battle fellow Atlantic Coast Conference squad Miami, according to a media report.
In an article from Connor Pignatello on masslive.com, 2025 four-star shooting guard Kiyan Anthony was quoted as saying that he, 2025 four-star point guard Nigel James and 2025 four-star forward Sadiq White Jr. are planning to arrive in Central New York for the ‘Cuse home game against the Hurricanes on Saturday, Jan. 20.
That ACC clash, by the way, is slated to commence at 12 pm from the JMA Wireless Dome, with television coverage on ESPN2.
It’s an important contest for SU. Syracuse basketball needs to pick up some solid wins for its post-season resume; Miami made the Final Four of the 2023 NCAA Tournament and is eyeing the top tier of the ACC in the current season.
Hopefully, the Orange will beat the Hurricanes before a packed Dome crowd, given that these three 2025 priority targets are expected to be in the house.
Recruits in the junior cycle are planning to visit Syracuse basketball.
The 6-foot-5 Anthony, the 6-foot James and the 6-foot-8 White are among seven or so players who have emerged as perhaps the top targets for the Orange coaching staff in the 2025 class. What’s more, all three of those guys have visited the ‘Cuse before.
Anthony, offered by the Orange in November of 2022, went on an official visit to Syracuse basketball in late October of last year. He attends Long Island Lutheran High School in Brookville, N.Y., and recently moved into the top 30 nationally, per On3.
One of his backcourt teammates at Long Island Lutheran is James, a top-100 overall player who was offered by SU in late August of last year and then officially visited the Orange the following month, in mid-September.
On the same weekend that James officially visited the ‘Cuse last September, White took an unofficial visit to the Syracuse basketball program.
A standout junior at Myers Park High School in Charlotte, N.C., White is a top-30 national prospect in this class. He secured a scholarship offer from the Orange in late April of 2023.
Last Saturday, the ‘Cuse coaching staff was expected to be in attendance for one of White’s games, according to a post on X from Nick Jones, an assistant coach at Myers Park.
This past Sunday and then again on Monday, per a source of mine, Syracuse basketball coaches were planning to be on hand at the Spalding Hoophall Classic in Springfield, Mass., to see various recruiting targets, including Anthony and James.
On January 15, beginning at 3 pm, Long Island Lutheran was scheduled to face off with another top-flight team, the AZ Compass Prep School from Chandler, Ariz., with television coverage on ESPNU.
