Last November, I wrote an article stating that I’d like to see Syracuse basketball coaches pursue fast-rising 2026 guard Jasiah Jervis from New York City.

It looks like that may be occurring. In two recent interviews, the 6-foot-5 Jervis said that Orange coaches have spoken with his parents and are keeping tabs on this talented young man.

College coaches can’t initiate direct communication with 2026 prospects until June 15 of this year.

Jervis, who hails from the Bronx, N.Y., told Rivals.com national analyst Rob Cassidy in a recent interview that he’s “excited” for the contact period to open up in mid-June, giving him an opportunity to talk with the Syracuse basketball coaching staff.

Syracuse basketball is interested in 2026 guard Jasiah Jervis from NYC.

So far in the current 2023-24 season, Jervis has put up some terrific performances and is having a solid sophomore term for the nationally ranked Archbishop Stepinac High School in White Plains, N.Y.

Former Orange recruit Boogie Fland, a 2024 five-star guard committed to Kentucky, is a standout senior at Archbishop Stepinac, which is one of the top high school programs in New York state.

According to recruiting services, Jervis’ early offer sheet includes teams such as Iona, Fordham, St. John’s, Saint Louis, St. Bonaventure, Manhattan and Hofstra.

In his recruiting process, Jervis told Cassidy that he’d like to hear from Kentucky when the contact period opens up for the 2026 cycle.

To that end, in a recent interview with media outlet Pro Insight, Jervis said he’d also like to hear from Duke and North Carolina.

Regarding the ‘Cuse, Jervis said in the Rivals.com story, “We heard from Syracuse. They had a conversation with my parents. I’m excited for June to get to talk to them. They told my parents they are going to keep watching me all season and that they love my game, so we’ll see. … I’m from the Bronx and my uncle went to Syracuse, so I know a little about the school. I’m excited to know more.”

On the AAU circuit, Jervis suits up for the Bronx-based Wiz Kids in the Adidas 3SSB league, which is the same grassroots basketball program where Syracuse basketball 2024 commit Elijah Moore, a four-star shooting guard, has played.

Jervis and Moore are friends, and that can only help the Orange’s chances with Jervis, should the ‘Cuse offer him, and I think that he will ultimately land a scholarship offer from Syracuse basketball.

To date with their 2026 recruiting efforts, Orange coaches have offered eight prospects in this class, while displaying an interest in several more.

Most recently, in mid-January, Syracuse basketball offered a scholarship to five-star guard/small forward Alex Constanza from Florida, who is a top-five overall player in this cycle, per ESPN.

Speaking of national rankings for the sophomore class, Cassidy wrote that Jervis is “a lock to see his name when the 2026 rankings expand to 100 in March.”
