In new national rankings from On3 and Rivals.com, Syracuse basketball 2026 target Alex Constanza finds himself in the top 10 around the country.
Rivals.com, in fact, moved the 6-foot-8 guard/small forward from Florida up one spot, to No. 5 nationwide.
The Orange coaching staff offered a scholarship to the five-star Constanza in mid-January, as I first reported. The lead Syracuse basketball recruiter for him is assistant coach Allen Griffin.
Constanza is one of eight 2026 prospects who to date have received scholarship offers from the ‘Cuse coaching staff, while the Orange shows interest in several other high school sophomores at this time.
Syracuse basketball 5-star recruit Alex Constanza can contend for the No. 1 spot.
Constanza has put forth a terrific sophomore year during the 2023-24 season as a standout for the Westminster Academy in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
Last month, Westminster (23-6 overall) reached the Class 3A regional final of the Florida High School Athletic Association (“FHSAA”) playoffs, where the Lions fell, 75-60, to the Riviera Preparatory School from Miami.
Per an article from the South Florida Sun Sentinel, Constanza scored a team-high 21 points for Westminster in the setback.
Despite the loss, it’s proven a strong 2023-24 for the Lions and Constanza, who won high praise from national analysts and scouts for his play at various showcases in recent months, such as the City of Palms Classic in Fort Myers, Fla., and Flyin’ To The Hoop in Kettering, Ohio.
During last year’s AAU circuit, Constanza was a top performer while starring for the 15U team of the Miami-based Nightrydas Elite in Nike’s EYBL league. I expect him to shine in grassroots basketball again this spring and summer.
When I broke the news that Syracuse basketball had offered a scholarship to Constanza, his dad shared with me that his son’s full offer sheet includes schools such as Florida Gulf Coast, Georgia, Ole Miss, LSU, Mississippi State, Washington, St. John’s, Florida, Miami, Florida State, Alabama, Dayton, Creighton, Georgia Tech, Louisville, Arizona State, Auburn and Illinois.
Many others, including Kentucky, Michigan State, Indiana and Oregon, have been displaying an interest in Constanza, who is a legit threat to take over the No. 1 national ranking in the 2026 class at some point.
I’ve noted that it’s encouraging the ‘Cuse has offered Constanza early on his recruiting process, although once the contact period for this cycle opens up on June 15, his offer sheet will substantially grow.
Constanza’s dad has told me that his son is excited about his offer from the Orange and has an interest in visiting Syracuse basketball in the future.
In those new national rankings for the sophomore class, Rivals.com had Constanza at No. 5 nationally, while On3 slotted him at No. 6 nationwide.
Currently, ESPN rates him at No. 3 overall. Both industry-generated rating systems, the 247Sports Composite and the On3 Industry Ranking, deemed Constanza as the No. 6 national prospect in 2026 at the time of this writing.
Additionally, the primary recruiting Web sites view him as one of the top guards/small forwards nationwide.
