The first spring live period will transpire this coming weekend on the various shoe-sponsored AAU circuits, and I'll be curious to see which four-star and five-star prospects the Syracuse basketball staff might end up watching.
These kinds of NCAA evaluation periods enable college coaches to watch recruits in person. There is an evaluation period from May 17 to May 19, during the same time that the three main AAU leagues will hold sessions around the country.
Now, it's an assumption on my part that the Orange coaching staff will be out and about during this live period. I say this in part because 'Cuse coaches, presumably, continue to work on finalizing their roster for the 2024-25 season.
Candidly, it would surprise me if Syracuse basketball coaches aren't watching targets amid this live period. Stay tuned on that.
By the way, per their respective Web sites, this upcoming weekend, Nike's EYBL league will be in Indianapolis, the Under Armour Association league will be in the Cincinnati area, and the Adidas 3SSB league will be in Bryan, Texas.

All of the players listed above hold scholarship offers from the Orange coaching staff. However, it's likely that 'Cuse coaches will also watch high school prospects this weekend, or during other upcoming live periods, who currently don't have SU offers in hand but could end up receiving one in the future.
This is especially true of guys in the 2026 cycle, because next month, the contact period opens up for this class, enabling college coaches to initiate direct communication with rising high school juniors.
Two 2026 prospects who I have my eye on are four-star guard Jasiah Jervis and three-star combo guard Parker Robinson.
Reports have already indicated that Jervis holds interest from the Syracuse basketball staff. He's running with the 16U team of the Bronx, N.Y.-based PSA Cardinals in Nike’s EYBL league.
National analysts have said that Robinson is likely to enter the 2026 national rankings soon. In late August of last year, he went on an unofficial visit to the Hill to play in the Orange's annual Elite Camp. Robinson suits up for the 16U squad of the Baltimore-based Team Melo in Nike's EYBL League.
Stemming from this weekend and other live periods, the 2026 contact period opening up, and just ongoing recruiting efforts by the 'Cuse staff in general, we'll also learn of other prospects across various classes who pick up scholarship offers from Syracuse basketball in the coming weeks and months.
