Syracuse Basketball: 4-star Jasiah Jervis, to play for N.Y. title, vaults into top 60
By Neil Adler
National recruiting analysts and scouts have said for a while now that 2026 guard Jasiah Jervis from New York City, who holds Syracuse basketball interest, was going to soar into the national rankings sooner rather than later.
And the 6-foot-5 Jervis has done exactly that.
Rivals.com, in recent days, updated and expanded its national rankings for the sophomore cycle, where it now includes the top-100 prospects in the 2026 class.
The four-star Jervis, per Rivals.com, went from unranked all the way up to No. 51 around the country. That’s a pretty remarkable, and well-deserved, jump for Jervis, who is playing at a high level for his New York high school program.
The Orange coaching staff is closely watching Jervis, and I could envision the ‘Cuse offering a scholarship to him once the contact period for the 2026 cycle opens up on June 15 of this year, if not before then.
Syracuse basketball target Jasiah Jervis has evolved into a national prospect.
Jervis, who hails from the Bronx, N.Y., plays for the powerhouse Archbishop Stepinac High School in White Plains, N.Y. This week, the Crusaders are ranked in the top 20 nationwide by both ESPN and MaxPreps.
Stepinac, a member of the New York state Catholic High School Athletic Association (“CHSAA”), is having a fabulous 2023-24 season. Currently, the Crusaders are 24-4 overall and 18-1 in CHSAA competition.
On March 6, Stepinac defeated the St. Francis Preparatory School from Queens, N.Y., by a final count of 73-52 to advance to the championship game of the 2024 CHSAA “AA” intersectional (city) playoffs.
In that victory, Jervis was fabulous, tallying 21 points, four rebounds and two assists.
This Sunday, March 10, beginning at 3 pm from Fordham University, Stepinac will play for the CHSAA “AA” intersectional title against Nazareth Regional High School from Brooklyn, N.Y.
Orange Nation wishes Jasiah and Stepinac good luck in Sunday’s encounter, and I’ll of course monitor how the Crusaders fare.
By the way, if you’d like to check out some of Jervis’ sophomore-year statistics in 2023-24 for Stepinac, you can head on over to the MaxPreps Web site.
His early scholarship offer sheet includes Iona, Fordham, St. John’s, Saint Louis, St. Bonaventure, Manhattan and Hofstra.
Beginning in mid-June, college coaches can start initiating direct communication with 2026 players, so trust me when I say that Jervis is going to see his full offer list significantly expand.
I’ll keep an eye out for what hopefully will be an offer from the ‘Cuse coaching staff to Jervis soon, and then let’s see if Syracuse basketball coaches can work to get him on the Hill for a visit down the line.
This spring and summer, look for Jervis to star on the AAU circuit when he suits up for the Bronx-based PSA Cardinals in Nike’s EYBL league. Last year, he was a member of the Bronx-based Wiz Kids in the Adidas 3SSB league.
The Wiz Kids are the same grassroots program of Syracuse basketball 2024 commit Elijah Moore, a four-star shooting guard who has played his senior year at the Our Saviour Lutheran School in the Bronx, which is a member of the Atlanta-based professional league Overtime Elite.
