The 2023-24 season in high school hoops has culminated, and from a Syracuse basketball recruiting perspective, I'm excited to turn my attention toward the AAU circuit over the upcoming spring and summer months.
Over the next few months, the main shoe-sponsored circuits and other AAU leagues will conduct various competitions around the country, including several times amid live periods that allow college coaches, recruiting analysts, scouts and media members to be in attendance.
As in years past, I expect 'Cuse coaches to watch some of their targets during these live periods, as the Orange staff focuses on the 2025 and 2026 cycles, and further into the future. We'll also keep a watchful eye on June 15, when the contact period opens up for 2026 prospects, enabling college coaches to begin initiating direct communication with rising high school juniors.
In the meantime, over the past few days, some early AAU events have transpired, with 'Cuse four-star and five-star targets earning praise from national analysts and scouts. Let's have a look.
