Four-star junior athlete Cameron Miller, who had visited Syracuse football and had the Orange in his top five, is headed to the Big Ten Conference.

Per media reports, including one from 247Sports national analyst Brian Dohn, the 5-foot-11, 165-pound Miller has verbally committed to Big Ten school Wisconsin.

I’m wishing Cameron, who hails from New Jersey like several ‘Cuse coaches, all the best. His pledge to the Badgers didn’t come as a huge surprise. Lately, Wisconsin had been receiving analyst buzz for Miller on various recruiting Web sites.

Miller is a standout defensive back and wide receiver at Winslow Township High School in Atco, N.J. Multiple recruiting services rate him in the top 425 nationally within the high school junior cycle.

Syracuse football has missed on 2025 four-star athlete Cameron Miller.

Miller was originally offered a scholarship by the former Orange staff in September of 2022. In early February of this year, he disclosed a top five of Syracuse football, Kentucky, Michigan, Rutgers and Wisconsin.

The prior month, in January of 2024, Miller reportedly took an unofficial visit to the ‘Cuse as part of one of the team’s junior days.

In his interview with Dohn, Miller noted that the Orange was involved in his recruitment, but ultimately, his recruiting process came down to Wisconsin and Kentucky.

Dohn wrote: “The Badgers gained separation in the late winter and became the program to beat, and the Wildcats were not able to close the gap. It was leaning Wisconsin's way for a few months, so his commitment did not come as a surprise."

When I wrote this article, both the industry-generated 247Sports Composite and the industry-generated On3 Industry Ranking placed Miller in the top 425 around the country in the high school junior class.

Not too long ago, 2025 four-star wide receiver and top-50 national prospect Vernell Brown III of Jones High School in Orlando, Fla., named a final four of Florida State, Miami, Florida and Ohio State.

The 5-foot-11, 175-pound Brown had unofficially visited Syracuse football in early March and previously had the ‘Cuse in his top 11.

Despite the Orange staff “missing out” on Brown and Miller, Syracuse football lately has had a lot of positive momentum with wide receivers in the 2025 cycle.

At the time of this writing, the ‘Cuse had at least 19 verbal commitments in its 2025 class, a cycle arriving in the top 10 nationally per several recruiting services.

The team’s pledges among high school juniors feature several wide receivers, such as three-star Darien Williams of the Christian Brothers Academy in Syracuse, three-star Terrell Wilfong of West Orange High School in West Orange, N.J., three-star Julian McFadden of La Salle College High School in Wyndmoor, Pa., and three-star Daunte Bacheyie of the Christian Brothers Academy in Syracuse.

What’s more, Syracuse football coaches are pursuing other 2025 WR targets. For example, Isaiah Mizell, a 2025 three-star wide receiver from Boone High School in Orlando, Fla., will officially visit the Orange from May 31 to June 2.

Gabe Daniels, a 2025 three-star wide receiver out of the Greater Atlanta Christian School in Norcross, Ga., recently disclosed a top three of the 'Cuse, N.C. State and Kansas. He plans to officially visit the Orange during the weekend that begins on May 31.

Carl Jenkins Jr., a 2025 four-star wide receiver out of St. Augustine High School in St. Augustine, Fla., recently named a top six that includes the ‘Cuse, and he visited Syracuse football last month.

Additionally, 2025 four-star athlete/wide receiver Tyler Williams with Sumner High School in Riverview, Fla., has the Orange in his top 13 and plans to officially visit the program from June 14 to June 16.
