Former Syracuse basketball player Nate Kingz, who played one season for the Orange, is headed overseas.
The 6-foot-5, 190-pound Kingz, who hails from Salem, Ore., has signed a deal with Hapoel Galil Elion for the 2026-27 season, according to a post on X. Hapoel Galil Elion is a professional team that competes in Israel’s premier league and in the Balkan League.

According to basketball.eurobasket.com, in the 2025-26 campaign, Hapoel Galil Elion went 7-19 in the regular season and then 4-2 in the postseason.
Last month, Kingz played for the Miami Heat in the 2026 NBA Summer League in Las Vegas. He appeared in three games, averaging 14.7 minutes, 4.3 points, 2.0 rebounds, 1.0 assists and 1.0 blocks per game while connecting on 27.8 percent from the field and 25.0 percent from beyond the arc.
Former Syracuse basketball wing Nate Kingz will play professionally in Israel.
Kingz transferred to the Orange for the 2025-26 season, after most recently competing for Oregon State. SU went 15-17 this past campaign, with Kingz coming on strong in the second half of the season, particularly from the 3-point line.
As a redshirt senior for the 'Cuse in 2025-26, Kingz averaged 31.3 minutes, 12.2 points, 3.6 rebounds and 1.3 assists per game while making 49.3 percent from the field, 36.7 percent from 3-point land and 61.9 percent from the free-throw line.
In July, Kingz was one of several former Syracuse basketball players who suited up in the NBA Summer League. Others included center William Kyle III and shooting guard Buddy Boeheim.
Additionally, a handful of players who spent part of their college careers at the 'Cuse, but finished up with other teams, also competed in the 2026 NBA Summer League. Among those were center Jesse Edwards (West Virginia), power forward Maliq Brown (Duke), wing Chris Bell (California) and guard/wing Quadir Copeland (N.C. State).
Statistically speaking, Copeland, Brown and Boeheim played the best during last month's NBA Summer League. More recently, Boeheim also competed for Boeheim's Army in the $2 million, winner-take-all The Basketball Tournament.
In late July, Boeheim's Army dropped a 70-66 road decision to a Kentucky alumni squad, La Familia, in the TBT quarterfinals.
