The transfer portal, which opened on Tuesday and will run through April 21, has already brought at least one commitment to Syracuse basketball and its new head coach, Gerry McNamara.
With at least seven players from the Orange's 2025-26 roster entering the portal, McNamara and his staff will have plenty of scholarships available for the team's next season. Arguably the two biggest positions of need for the 'Cuse via the portal are point guard and center.
Even though the portal just opened, there are already numerous top-flight prospects in it, and that will only increase over the next two weeks. Among those in the portal are various former Syracuse basketball four-star and five-star recruiting targets who previously held scholarship offers from the 'Cuse while in high school.
It's entirely possible that McNamara and his assistants may take a look at some of these college transfers who have been recruited by SU in the past. Here are names to monitor.
