Syracuse women's basketball will welcome a fellow Empire State team to the Hill in mid-November as part of SU's non-conference docket in the 2026-27 campaign.
SU Athletics announced on Tuesday that the Orange will host Metro Conference member Canisius from Buffalo, N.Y., on Sunday, Nov. 15, at the JMA Wireless Dome. The tip-off time and broadcast details will be announced later on, per Syracuse Athletics.
By the way, Syracuse men's basketball will also have a non-conference affair on November 15. The men's team will square off with former Big East Conference rival St. John's at Madison Square Garden in New York City, a source confirmed to Inside the Loud House last week.

The 'Cuse and the Golden Griffins have been playing each other since the 1979-80 campaign. The Orange leads the all-time series 12-2. Last year, Syracuse women's basketball defeated Canisius at home by a final score of 96-72 on November 11, 2025.
Before this past season's encounter, the teams hadn't met since 2014-15. In the 2025-26 campaign, the Golden Griffins went 5-24 overall and 3-17 in league competition. The 'Cuse, meanwhile, sported a 24-9 overall mark last season, and that included a 12-6 record in Atlantic Coast Conference contests.
Head coach Felisha Legette-Jack, a former All-American player at SU, guided the Orange to the second round of the 2026 NCAA Tournament. The program's 2026-27 roster includes several key returnees, college transfers and incoming freshmen, as the 'Cuse eyes a second consecutive trip to the Big Dance.
Here is the non-conference schedule to date for Syracuse women's basketball.
•Syracuse women's basketball against UConn at the Mohegan Sun in Uncasville, Conn., on Monday, Oct. 12 (exhibition)
•Syracuse women's basketball against Sacred Heart at the Dome on Tuesday, Nov. 3
•Syracuse women's basketball against Canisius at the Dome on Sunday, Nov. 15
•Syracuse women's basketball against Oklahoma at the Dome on Thursday, Dec. 3 (ACC/SEC Challenge)
•Syracuse women's basketball at Le Moyne on Wednesday, Dec. 16
Both the women's and men's 2027 NCAA Tournaments will see their respective fields grow from 68 teams to 76 participants. In super early bracketology projections from this past spring, ESPN and USA Today predicted that the Orange will hear its name called on Selection Sunday come next March.
