Former Syracuse basketball player Cole Swider, who played one season for the Orange, will reportedly compete for Boeheim's Army during the upcoming The Basketball Tournament ("TBT").
The 6-foot-8 Swider, a forward, is listed on the Boeheim's Army roster for the 2026 TBT, per the event's Web site. The annual summer event has a new format in 2026, with 14 teams vying for the winner-take-all grand prize of $2 million.
Swider, in college, spent three seasons at Big East Conference school Villanova before transferring to the 'Cuse for the 2021-22 campaign. For the Orange, he averaged 13.9 points, 6.8 rebounds, 1.4 assists and 1.0 steals per game while connecting on 44.0 percent from the field, 41.1 percent from beyond the arc and 86.6 percent from the free-throw line.
He wasn't selected in the 2022 NBA Draft, although Swider has played pro ball ever since, primarily in the NBA's G League. In the 2025-26 season, he played for Anadolu Efes, a professional team located in Istanbul, Turkey, that competes in the Basketbol Süper Ligi and the EuroLeague.
In 2025-26, he played in 30 games, with three starts. Swider averaged 9.0 minutes, 5.3 points and 1.1 rebounds per contest while making 51.0 percent from the field, 48.1 percent from downtown and 94.7 percent from the charity stripe.
Boeheim's Army will commence its 2026 TBT journey later this month.
All-time, Boeheim's Army is 27-10 in the TBT, winning the event in 2021 and collecting $1 million as a result. So far, the team has revealed six players for this summer's TBT, and all of them are SU alums.
Here is the Boeheim's Army roster to date:
Forward Cole Swider
Shooting guard Buddy Boeheim
Guard Eric Devendorf
Forward Jimmy Boeheim
Wing Elijah Hughes
Wing Wes Johnson
Boeheim's Army should be announcing more roster additions, and its head coach, soon. The team's opening round in the 2026 TBT will be a best-of-three series against a Seton Hall alumni squad, known as Hall In.
They will first face off on Tuesday, July 21, in South Orange, N.J., followed by a second match-up on Thursday, July 23, in Syracuse, N.Y. If the squads split those encounters, a third game will take place on Friday, July 24, in Syracuse.
All of Boeheim's Army's games, expected to air on either FS1 or FS2, will tip off at 7 pm EST.
