For a while now, Syracuse basketball coaches have shown an interest in fast-rising 2026 prospect Dylan Mingo, who this past season suited up alongside Orange incoming freshman Kiyan Anthony for a powerhouse New York high school program.
Based on some chatter I had been hearing of late, I assumed that the 'Cuse would ultimately offer Mingo, a five-star point guard and a consensus top-15 national prospect in his class.
That scholarship offer was disclosed on Monday by Mingo via his X page and also by the X account PD Web, a scouting service. A huge congrats from Orange Nation to Dylan!

Not too long ago, recruiting service and media outlet On3 updated its 2026 rankings. Mingo moved to No. 4 nationwide, No. 1 at point guard and No. 1 in New York within his class. At the time of this writing, both the industry-generated 247Sports Composite and the industry-generated On3 Industry Ranking had Mingo in the top 11 overall.

Syracuse basketball has officially entered the recruitment of 2026 five-star point guard Dylan Mingo.
Mingo is a rising senior at Long Island Lutheran High School in Brookville, N.Y., which is a member of the prestigious Nike Elite Youth Basketball League Scholastic ("EYBL Scholastic").
This past term, Long Island Lutheran went 22-7 overall and was ranked in the top five nationally, per multiple media outlets. The Crusaders earned a berth in this past spring's Chipotle Nationals in Fishers, Ind., near Indianapolis, and looking ahead to the 2025-26 campaign, top national analyst/scout Samad Hines has Long Island Lutheran as the preseason No. 5 squad around the country.

In 2024-25, Anthony and Mingo were both key members of the Crusaders' roster. Two other players for this program hold Syracuse basketball scholarship offers. They are 2026 four-star power forward MJ Madison and 2027 five-star wing/forward Moussa Kamissoko.
During EYBL Scholastic this past term, Mingo averaged 13.25 points, 5.56 rebounds and 2.75 assists per contest while making 44 percent from the field, 28 percent from 3-point land and 75 percent from the free-throw line.
As a senior, Mingo will play alongside, and against, other 'Cuse recruits. Alex Constanza, a 2026 five-star guard/small forward who has officially visited the Orange, recently transferred to the Spire Academy in Geneva, Ohio, which will be a new EYBL Scholastic member in 2025-26.
CIA Bella Vista in Phoenix has a roster that features five prospects with Syracuse basketball scholarship offers. They are 2026 four-star wing/small forward Vaughn Karvala, 2026 four-star point guard Miles Sadler, 2026 four-star guard Rokiem Green, 2026 four-star center Aliou Dioum and 2027 five-star big man Paul Osaruyi.
Not too long ago, the 'Cuse offered 2026 four-star combo guard Katrelle Harmon, who is a rising senior at another EYBL Scholastic school, the Wasatch Academy in Mount Pleasant, Utah.
According to recruiting services, besides the Orange, Mingo's offer sheet includes teams such as Southern California, Oklahoma, North Carolina, Louisville, Alabama, Illinois, Texas A&M, Cincinnati, Ole Miss, Missouri, Providence, Florida State, Oklahoma State, St. John's and Virginia Tech, among others.
This spring, he has played at a high level for the 17U team of the Bronx, N.Y.-based PSA Cardinals in Nike’s EYBL league. During three spring sessions, the PSA Cardinals sported a 7-4 mark and will now look ahead to the season-ending Peach Jam tournament this July in North Augusta, S.C.
Mingo, so far, has earned high praise from national analysts and scouts during EYBL competition, averaging 18.5 points, 7.5 rebounds and 2.4 assists per encounter while connecting on 41.8 percent from the field, 25.7 percent from beyond the arc and 77.6 percent from the charity stripe.
