In the latest refresh from 247Sports, Syracuse basketball 2026 target Vaughn Karvala has jumped more than 80 spots.
Karvala, a four-star wing/small forward from Wisconsin, soared from No. 126 overall to No. 42 nationally, an increase of 84 placements. Currently, 247Sports also has him as the No. 17 small forward and the No. 1 prospect hailing from Wisconsin.

The 6-foot-6 Karvala, per the industry-generated 247Sports Composite, is four stars, No. 48 overall, No. 18 at small forward and No. 1 in Wisconsin.
Last November, Karvala visited the Orange. Soon thereafter, he picked up a scholarship offer from the 'Cuse. Not too long ago, top national analyst/scout Jamie Shaw of On3 confirmed to me that Karvala is interested in possibly taking official visits to Syracuse basketball and Southeastern Conference member Ole Miss.
Four-star small forward Vaughn Karvala is becoming a priority for Syracuse basketball coaches.
As a junior, Karvala had an award-winning 2024-25 season for Oregon High School in Oregon, Wis. This spring, he's playing quite well for the 17U squad of the Milwaukee-based Team Herro in Nike's EYBL league.
The EYBL has conducted three spring sessions ahead of July's season-ending Peach Jam tournament. Per the Nike league's Web site, Karvala is averaging 14.6 points, 4.6 rebounds and 1.5 blocks per contest while making 42.4 percent from the field, 36.4 percent from beyond the arc and 72.4 percent from the free-throw line.
Another member of Team Herro's 17U roster is 2025 three-star center Tiefing Diawara, who committed to the Orange earlier this week. The 6-foot-11, 240-pound Diawara, who is from Mali, attends the DME Academy at St. John's Northwestern in Delafield, Wis.
Karvala's full offer sheet, besides the 'Cuse, also includes schools such as Arizona State, Iowa, Marquette, Ole Miss and Wisconsin, among others. Two other quality programs showing an interest in him are Tennessee and Oregon.
In June, Karvala will participate in the prestigious NBPA top 100 camp, an annual event that this year will take place in Rock Hill, S.C. He's becoming more and more of a national prospect, and it wouldn't surprise me if other top college basketball teams get into the mix for Karvala.
That being said, it does seem that he's high on Syracuse basketball, and it would prove encouraging for the Orange's chances to prevail for Karvala if he does ending up visiting the Hill for a second time.
