4-star offensive tackle from Philly is high on Syracuse football, sets game-day visit

One of the top offensive tackles in the 2028 class will visit Syracuse football again, this time on Halloween.

Four-star Ty Winn, who resides just outside the top 100 nationally in his cycle, per ESPN, will go on an unofficial visit to the Orange program when the 'Cuse hosts fellow Atlantic Coast Conference team SMU on Saturday, Oct. 31, at the JMA Wireless Dome.

He wrote on X: "Coach Fran (Brown) shows me too much love for me not show up to a game this fall."

The 6-foot-8, 278-pound Winn, who is from the Philadelphia area, has visited the Orange on several occasions in the past. His first Division I scholarship offer came from the 'Cuse back in late November of 2025.

Winn's full scholarship offer sheet includes some big-time programs such as Georgia, Ohio State, Texas and Texas A&M, along with other schools like Duke, Florida, N.C. State, Penn State, South Carolina, UCLA, Virginia Tech, Wisconsin, Temple, Georgia Tech, Auburn, North Carolina and Florida State.

I'm not aware of any sort of list cut at this juncture for Winn, although Inside the Loud House is told that he remains high on the Orange. At the time of this writing, Syracuse football was in the lead for Winn, per the Rivals Recruiting Prediction Machine, followed by the Buckeyes at No. 2.

Winn attends Monsignor Bonner & Archbishop Prendergast Catholic High School in Drexel Hill, Pa., which is a suburb of Philadelphia. Monsignor Bonner, in the 2025 season, went 6-5 overall, according to MaxPreps.

Within the 2028 class, ESPN is the most bullish on Winn, placing him at No. 109 overall, No. 14 at offensive tackle and No. 3 in Pennsylvania. The industry-generated 247Sports Composite ranks Winn at No. 219 nationally, No. 26 at offensive tackle and No. 8 in Pennsylvania.

Over at the industry-generated Rivals Industry Ranking, Winn is No. 192 nationwide, No. 21 at offensive tackle and No. 7 in Pennsylvania.

So far, the Syracuse football staff, led by head coach and ace recruiter Brown, has secured one verbal commitment in its 2028 class. Last October, four-star offensive tackle Omari Lawson of the Zarephath Academy in Jacksonville, Fla., verbally committed to the 'Cuse.

When 247Sports recently updated its 2028 national rankings, the 6-foot-6, 260-pound Lawson checked in at No. 146 overall, No. 19 at offensive tackle and No. 16 in Florida. SU coaches will have to hold onto Lawson ahead of the early signing period this December, as powerhouses likes Georgia and LSU have recently offered him.
