Syracuse football is among the schools standing out in the early stages of 2028 four-star offensive tackle Ty Winn's recruitment, according to Rivals.

Other college programs that have made stellar impressions on Winn include recent national champions Ohio State and Georgia, as well as Penn State, which has made the College Football Playoff in recent seasons.

That's quite the company for the Orange, which was the first Division I offer for the 6-foot-8, 270-pound Winn back in late November of 2025.

Per recruiting services, Winn's full scholarship offer sheet includes schools such as Duke, Florida, Georgia, N.C. State, Ohio State, Penn State, South Carolina, UCLA, Virginia Tech, Wisconsin and Temple.

When I wrote this article, the 'Cuse was in the lead for Winn, per the Rivals Recruiting Prediction Machine, although that is subject to change as he takes more visits and other things transpire in his recruitment.

Syracuse football is recruiting 2028 4-star offensive tackle Ty Winn hard.

Winn, who has already visited the Orange program several times, attends Monsignor Bonner & Archbishop Prendergast Catholic High School in Drexel Hill, Pa., which is a suburb of Philadelphia. Monsignor Bonner, in the 2025 season, went 6-5 overall, according to MaxPreps.

According to an Instagram post from last month, Winn has a bunch of unofficial visits coming up, including one to Syracuse football on June 20. Other trips on the horizon for him are Ohio State, Georgia Tech, Georgia and Penn State.

Winn is a highly ranked prospect in the 2028 class. The industry-generated 247Sports Composite places him at No. 213 overall, No. 23 at offensive tackle and No. 7 in Pennsylvania. Over at the industry-generated Rivals Industry Ranking, Winn is No. 189 nationally, No. 20 at offensive tackle and No. 6 in Pennsylvania.

ESPN is the most bullish on him these days, putting Winn at No. 107 overall, No. 14 at offensive tackle and No. 2 in Pennsylvania.

To date, Syracuse football head coach Fran Brown and his staff have one verbal pledge in the 2028 cycle. Last October, four-star offensive tackle Omari Lawson, a top-125 national prospect out of the Zarephath Academy in Jacksonville, Fla., verbally committed to the 'Cuse.
