A fast-rising big man from New York has landed an offer from Syracuse basketball following a live period this past weekend on the AAU circuit.

Caleb Ourigou, a four-star power forward/center in the 2027 class, said on his X page that the Orange coaching staff had offered him a scholarship. A huge congrats to Caleb!

Listed as 6-foot-10 and 215 pounds on the 247Sports Web site, Ourigou also holds early offers in his recruiting process from Big East Conference member St. John's and Big Ten Conference school UCLA.

That offer list will undoubtedly grow. Next month, on June 15, college coaches can start initiating direct contact with 2027 prospects, so I assume Ourigou will secure more high-major offers once the contact period opens.

Ourigou attends the Lawrence Woodmere Academy in Woodmere, N.Y., on Long Island. This spring and summer in grassroots hoops, he is competing for the 16U team of the New York City-based Renaissance Hoops in Nike's EYBL league, which last weekend held a session in Memphis, Tenn., during a live period where college coaches could watch high school prospects in person.

Syracuse basketball is beefing up its 2027 recruiting efforts.

Per his X account, Ourigou has been invited to compete in two upcoming showcases, the Nike Elite 100 Camp and the Pangos All-American Camp. He is rated a four-star prospect by ESPN, although I'm not seeing him ranked by other recruiting Web sites, at least for now.

This past weekend in Memphis, while playing for Renaissance Hoops, Ourigou averaged 12 points, 10.2 rebounds, 2.5 blocks and 1.2 assists per contest. He shot at least 50 percent from the field in all four games, and Ourigou also tallied 16 boards in one affair and six blocks in another.

Earlier this year, top 247Sports national analyst Dushawn London wrote in part that Ourigou "has great size at 6-10 with a strong powerful frame. Ourigou has a presence in the paint and plays with a very high motor aggression."

To date, Syracuse basketball coaches have offered several other 2027 players besides Ourigou. They include five-star forward Baba Oladotun, five-star center Paul Osaruyi, five-star wing Moussa Kamissoko, five-star power forward Zion Green and four-star power forward/center Isaiah Hill.

As I noted above, we could see the 'Cuse staff dish out more offers to 2027 prospects once the contact period for this class opens in mid-June.
